Chapter 47: Back to Normal

"Ah, Naruto. Good to finally have you back on your feet. How are you feeling?" Tsunade asked as I walked through the doors to her office.
"I feel great. Fuzzy doesn't need to run life support anymore, and I'm regaining my old luster." I told her while flipping my hair back and forth slowly.
"I bet you're green with envy." I teased.
"Not as green as you're going to be with my foot up your ass, you little shit." I saw a vein pop in the side of her cheek.
"But, if you're feeling well enough to crack jokes, I think I can send you out on a few D-Ranks to get you back into the swing of things. You might feel better, and you may have the skills, but your strength as it stands won't get you past an academy student-"
"Oi!" I protested.
"So, here are a few missions to help you get your feet wet. Go." She shoed me off and I was out to complete my missions.
I took a week after being declared fit for duty to raise my level with some light sparring with Hinata. Brought me back to our academy days.
Sakura and Haku joined in on occasion to put me through my paces, but they were helping me grow quicker, so I wasn't going to complain. Kakashi eventually got off his butt and began to train me like he did back when Team 7 was formed.
I was doing this for the whole week with a day of rest every two, doing lighter stretches an exercises, both for my body and my chakra. I gained experience through battles and spars like before, but now any points that would've been made for my stats now go to my level-up and everything increases at the full-potential rate.
I was now Lv10, just like when I started my genin career.

Yeah, that was a lot more than I had at the beginning, but I was slowly getting back to my rightful place at the top. Everyone was stupid strong too, I wonder If their level cap is going to increase to 1000 like mine did.
Choji had the lowest level overall at 150. Kakashi was at 250 and Sakura and Hinata were at 215 last I checked. Sasuke was 248 before she left.
Needless to say, I had a long way to go. But if a week of dedicated training got me this far, it was only a matter of time.

My first mission of the day was to paint some fences. It was just me so I went with a few shadow clones to speed things up. It took me about 45min to paint the whole thing.
The next was to walk some dogs. I had clones do that while I went to pull weeds out of a garden with a different set of clones.
I was still around 10am when I finished all of my missions, so I took a mission asking for someone knowledgeable in chakra control to do an academy class. I decided to call both Gamakichi and Gamamichi to spend time with me while I did the mission. They were surprised at my new, less powerful appearance and I gave them the cliff notes version.
They were glad I was doing better now and helped me make the class a little more engaging for the kids in the class. Last but not least was a short C-Rank I sneaked in past the boob monster to go and deliver goods to the next town over. It was a Pink Town, so I was likely going to find Jiraiya somewhere there.
Ask and you shall receive. I found Jiraiya at a bar, but unlike what I as a fan would've come to expect, he was getting info from his informants. He and Aunty seemed to be going at it seriously and not just satisfying their needs with each other. Sensei could be a respectable man when he wanted to, I guess.
I ignored him since he would likely rat me out to Tsunade to get some brownie points. I delivered the goods and encountered a bandit camp with about 100 bandits just lazing around in the forest. I sent a few disguised clones to stake the place out and there were no high value targets in the camp, nor any unsavory activities that I could see.
I thought about letting them go but tried my Area Scanning Technique just for the sanity check and found a whole host of men and women in cages, likely slaves of some type. I sighed and sent a clone to check if there were any missions or bounties for bandits or bandit camps in the area. There were several. All C or B-Ranked. I took them all with my clone (I sent two) and cleared the area of this filth while the clones came to my location.
I went to the towns where the bounties and missions originated from and got the payment from the clients.
This was pretty much how I did my missions on days where I didn't have any training scheduled. It was nice, to just be able to go at things at my own pace. I eventually did enough of these that I was Lv40 by the end of the month.

My next mission, however, was one that while I wasn't expecting, I was more than willing to accomplish. I was escorting Shibuki to the Waterfall Village. Baddies beware, Naruto Uzumaki is coming to beat your ass.

I walked with the insufferable coward to his village and as soon as he began to give me lip I gave him a right spanking, telling him to be more grateful to people lending him a hand and being such a bitch.
I thwarted the attack by the rogue shinobi at the entrance and followed Shibuki into the village. I could've fallen into their trap, but I wanted to lay my own and see if I could be a clever tactician outside of a Shogi match.
I was strong enough to do a One-Tail V2 Cloak, so I told Shibuki to run in terrified screaming about a monster or something. He looked at me like I was stupid but I bonked him on the head and he complied. He then sprang out of the water terrified, or acting as terrified as he could. This kid was a terrible actor.
I decided to throw him a bone and changed into my cloak and sprang out of the water, behaving like a wild beast in a rage. The rogue ninja began to shit themselves and tried to scramble to the heroes water to gain power but I just broke the stupid jug and laughed in their faces when they started to perform their last rites for each other.
I let my cloak dissipate slowly while I laughed at them before I used my Flying Thunder God: Third Step to kill all of them in the blink of an eye. The third step was similar to the second, but it had clones added to the jutsu formula that only appeared to strike at the targets and disappeared. The more chakra I put into the activation the more powerful the attack. These were just peons, so I had them get stabbed.
The villager's were terrified of me because of my bijū cloak and I just shrugged them off. I got my payment and signature for the mission and walked off. Tsunade gave me an earful for destroying the Heroes Water but offered no valid defense when I told her that the water was nothing but a crutch for a mediocre village.
She kicked me out of her office and told me to take a week off since I'd done over 200 missions by this point. I grinned and went to Kakashi sensei to spar. He also owes me a new technique, so I was poaching his Purple Lightning, too.
