Chapter 253: The dungeon

Evelyn was silent on the ride back to Clyde's estate. She could not get the image of Geoffrey being drawn and quartered from her mind. She could not even begin to imagine what poor Maxine must be going through. She had waited so long to find her mate only to be helpless as his life was taken. She also could not help but blame herself for this entire ordeal. If only she was strong, maybe then she would have been able to do something to help Geoffrey. She cast her eyes down and tried to clear her mind of those negative thoughts, but they would not leave her.
