Chapter 237: Almost ready

Evelyn trained hard with Kallista from the book of spells she had gotten from her mother. She trusted Kallista enough to practice with her and she was glad for her guidance. The spells were destructive, and Evelyn was hesitant at first to try them out, but she knew that she needed to learn them. George kept tabs on anything strange going on and they had some reports of kidnappings in the north, but there was not a pattern that they could see outright. He kept his distance from Evelyn and stuck to helping Clyde with his business deals. 

It did not take Evelyn long to master a few of the spells. She felt her magic more readily and she could feel it flow through her more fluidly. Under Kallista's guidance, she felt more confident in her abilities, but she was still unsure if she would be able to use these spells on other creatures. Kallista had noticed her struggling to get her mind around this while they were practicing.
