Chapter 224: The Ritual

Evelyn's nerves were beginning to get to her as the time for the ritual grew closer. She knew that it was something that she needed to do, but that did not make things any easier. She changed into a simple black dress and headed for the training grounds. There were candles lit all over the arena and she could feel the energies surging around her. Kallista was standing in the middle of the grounds. She was dressed in a long white gown that was embellished with on the bust and bottom. Evelyn took in the sights around her and began to relax. She had to trust Kallista and herself if this was going to be a success. Porta rustled on her shoulder and Evelyn stroked her head reassuringly. 

"Are you ready to begin?" Kallista asked from her spot in the center.

Evelyn nodded her head and made her way to the center of the arena. "I am ready," she said.
