Chapter 69: The Meeting

Evelyn was surprised to find an invitation on the floor of her bedroom by the door. It was informing her of a meeting this morning with Duke Arthur and she hastily got ready. She picked out a simple dark purple gown and braided her hair. She did not feel like waiting for Mary to come and help her get ready. She had planned on spending time in the medicinal wing all day, but this seemed too important to miss.

As Evelyn made her way toward the meeting room she noticed her father was speaking with Michael. "Good morning," she called out.

Her father turned his attention to her and his hard eyes softened, "did you receive an invitation as well?" He asked.

Evelyn nodded her head, "yes, I just got it. Do you know what this is about?" She asked.

Duke Henry turned to Michael and they exchanged a look of understanding. "I think it has something to do with the dark magic and how we are all assembled here," he said.

"That would make sense," Evelyn agreed.
