Chapter 47: Unexpected Mates

"Did you give her the items?" Clyde asked George when he rejoined him at the table in the inn.

"Did you know?" He asked. 

"Did I know what?" Clyde sipped from his goblet.

"That the young witch is the daughter of the lady that saved Maxine all those years ago?"

Clyde stared blankly at George for a few moments but smiled in the end. "I did not know, but that certainly makes sense. That being the case, it is a good thing I gave her back her mother's potion book," he laughed.

George looked at Clyde with curious eyes. If he did not know that Evelyn was that girl's daughter, then why did he take such an interest in her. Not wanting to sound like he was question his sire, he paused for a few moments. "Maxine got permission from the wolves to get closer to her," he said.
