Chapter 8: Vomiting Duo, Hiruzen Danzo
In the blink of an eye, more than a dozen streams of smoke rose up. No one was sure where those people went.
The strong smell of shit was growing stronger, and there were even footsteps approaching the entrance of the Hokage building.
Just then, the Third Hokage once again lifted his Hokage robe to cover his mouth and nose before turning around slowly.
Observing Hiruzen's actions, Danzo suddenly understood and followed suit, turning around as well.
Thump!
Chiba stepped out.
"Huh?"
As soon as he walked out of the Hokage building, he noticed that Hokage-sama and Danzo-sama seemed to be facing the wrong direction.
So, he decided to go around in front of them.
After all, he didn't want to startle them by approaching from behind, and it would be disrespectful to the two adults.
But halfway through his maneuver, he noticed that the two of them were staring at him.
From their gaze, Chiba could sense a variety of emotions, but he couldn't quite pinpoint them.
"Stop!"
"Don't move any further..."
Suddenly, Danzo and Hiruzen spoke almost simultaneously.
After uttering those words, the two quickly covered their mouths and noses with their respective clothes and handkerchiefs.
"Eh? Talking with your neck twisted? Isn't that bad?"
Chiba was a little confused.
But soon, he realized he was mistaken.
Chiba remained still, but Danzo and the Hokage turned around.
The two of them now had their backs facing Chiba again.
Now Chiba was starting to feel uneasy.
"Lord Hokage, Master Danzo, are you trying to communicate with me through your backs?"
Chiba blurted out in a hurry, and as he did, the strong Ollie smell mixed with his words, wafting towards their backs.
"Gwoockk..."
"Woo..."
At that moment, Hiruzen and Danzo began shaking violently.
Danzo couldn't bear it any longer; he lifted his handkerchief and began to retch. Hiruzen, with great effort, managed to suppress the rising vomit in his throat.
Realizing that he couldn't delay any longer, Hiruzen knew he had to make a quick decision. Otherwise, even he wouldn't be able to tolerate it any longer.
He took a deep breath, endured the discomfort in his stomach, and once again covered his mouth and nose with the Hokage robe.
"Chiba, I order you to turn around now! Immediately!"
With a stern tone, Hiruzen conveyed his command.
As a result, Chiba obediently turned around.
Thus, the back-to-back communication continued.
Chiba stared at the empty space in front of him, feeling increasingly bewildered.
"Chiba, tell me what you saw at the supply station. Remember, keep it brief and to the point!"
Hiruzen spoke quickly, his tone indicating his sense of urgency.
"Oh!"
Responding to the empty air, Chiba gathered his thoughts and began organizing his words.
"I was driving the ox cart to the supply station. It was about a few hundred meters away when suddenly I saw the supply station explode. Then my cow went crazy, and I..."
"Don't mention the cow!"
The Third Hokage interrupted, his voice muffled and devoid of any emotion, as he covered his nose and mouth with the Hokage robe.
"Well, that cow cost me..."
"I'll reimburse you! Stop talking nonsense and stay focused!"
At that moment, Hiruzen was on the verge of exploding, but he managed to hold himself back.
Being angry would only make him breathe faster, and faster breathing would lead to an unintended outcome.
"I fell off the cart, and then five Sand Shinobi found me."
Chiba felt a little aggrieved as he recounted his experience.
However, he was speaking to the empty air.
"Oh? Go on!"
"What happened next?"
Hearing this, not only did Hiruzen become interested, but even Danzo stopped retching and urged him in a muffled voice.
Both of them suspected that some sort of accident had occurred during Chiba's encounter with the Sand Shinobi, explaining their current state.
In Chiba's mind, Chiba scratched his head, pondered for a moment, and decided to classify his ability as a bloodline limit.
After all, he couldn't admit that he had consumed dung; that would be embarrassing.
"Then I awakened Shidun."
By naming his ability "Shidun," Chiba silently praised his cleverness.
"Shit escape? Is that how it happened?"
"It's a bloodline limit?"
The realization dawned upon Danzo and Hiruzen, finding this explanation plausible.
According to their reasoning, Chiba must have encountered five Sand Shinobi and, in a critical situation, awakened his bloodline limit—Shidun—covering himself in a repulsive smell and vanquishing the Sand Shinobi.
This was the narrative that had formed in the minds of Hiruzen and Danzo.
