Chapter 2: Chapter 00: The Seer Meets A.I.
"Wake up."
The warm blanket covering my entire body has disappeared followed by a bright light that made me groan and face the pillow in aversion to the light.
It took me a little while to wake up. I rub my eyes as I sit on the bed. "Is it finally my time for an eternal sleep, administrator?"
"No. I have another request for you." A voice with its speaker nowhere to be seen answered me.
"Go on, I'm listening."
"I want you to mentor an artificial intelligence I made." (administrator)
"I accept. A rare type of student…is that as species or a program?"
"As species. Greet your mentor." (administrator)
A wisp appeared in front of me. "It's my pleasure to meet you, mentor."
"Nice to meet you as well. Just call me nameless. Don't you have a name as well?"
"None, mentor." The artificial intelligence answered.
"How about you give her a name?" The administrator is asking me, but her tone is sharp that it feels she is hinting me to do it in her stead.
"Having no name is inconvenient seeing that we are both nameless. What do you think of Hotaru as your name?"
"Yes, mentor." The artificial intelligence, Hotaru responded to me.
"Nameless, please help Hotaru to develop in all aspects you can cover. There is no time limit, go at your own pace." (administrator)
Administrator's presence was gone, I guess she left.
"Okay, let's start with knowing where you stand. Did the administrator inputted basic knowledge to you?"
"Yes, mentor." (Hotaru)
I opened my profile as a hologram projection and showed it to Hotaru.

"Why do mentor have undefined stats and skills?" (Hotaru)
"The question marks, huh. The stats are a measurement of your physical body. Strength, dexterity, constitution, and speed are obviously measurement of various aspects of your body. Same goes with intelligence since it measures the performance of your brain. I'm just a soul without a physical body to be measured. My stats are undefined for that reason. As for my undefined skills…you don't need to concern yourself about them. Consider it as an irregular case."
"Yes, mentor." (Hotaru)
"Any questions you want to ask?"
"None, mentor. I wish to start learning more as soon as possible." (Hotaru)
"Aren't we doing that already? For the first day, we will just be reviewing the basics. Your creator, the administrator has already inputted knowledge, if I'm right. You already got the theoretical knowledge covered so you must be eager for practical application."
At the snap of my fingers, we were transported to a different place. From a pure white room, we are now in a place with green grass and tall trees widespread on the land, a bright sun, and blue skies with white clouds.
"This place is…an internal dimension, but this can't be. This is an independent world of its own." (Hotaru)
"Even for an A.I. holding a massive amount of knowledge, this must be a surprise for you. Let's start with the review. Tell me what an internal dimension is."
"An internal dimension is a space occupying a portion of a mage's soul that is used to store belongings that they want to carry even if they reincarnate. Normally, an internal dimension's space cannot be bigger than a meter, let alone become a world." (Hotaru)
"I want to know what a world is."
"A world is a space containing universes, not differing universes, but similar universes with slight distinctions like a universe and its parallel universe." (Hotaru)
"By what you said, your first analysis of this dimension is wrong as this place doesn't have a neighboring universe.." I smiled at Hotaru as I sit on the ground crossed-legged.
"That is…" Hotaru tries to come up with a response but kept it to herself.
"Hahaha, that's quite cute of you. Majority of my bookish students have a similar expression when they realized that reality is not as exactly as theoretical knowledge has described. But this occurrence should not make you underestimate theoretical knowledge, okay?" I winked at Hotaru in delight seeing her speechlessness.
"Mentor, are you a petty teacher that enjoys being mean with your students?" (Hotaru)
"That's not true at all. I'm a very kind mentor. Back to our topic, this place is not an internal dimension which you also got wrong. That are two mistakes for you. We are currently on a universe that doesn't belong to any world."
"I know you used dimensional travel and gate at the same time, but…" (Hotaru)
"Your sensors wasn't able to perceived what just happened, you mean? Gate is a skill that connects two coordinates, while dimensional travel allows travels on different dimensions, universes, and worlds. I expanded the travelling capabilities of gate with dimensional travel and have the gate pass through us. It is just my mastery of my space-time spells allows me to cast them in such a manner that it will be unnoticeable."
"I understand. Reclassifying mentor as an abnormality." (Hotaru)
"Even though anyone can pull this off with enough practice, it's just they are lazy. So, what do you want to learn next?"
"Magic combat. Mother has instilled knowledge as a mage and spells to me, so I wish to learn how to use them in combat." (Hotaru)
"Hmmm, administrator is the greatest mage across worlds, so I advise not use her as a standard, but then again, you are the first of newly created species with unseen possibilities. Although it doesn't seem like you're chasing your creator's shadow. Fine by me."
"Thank you very much, mentor. Additionally, I wish for us to fight in all earnest." (Hotaru)
"Yes, yes. We can start anytime you want." I just shrugged my shoulders.
Hotaru's mana spiked up immediately. I guess I will wait for her…hold on.
By the time I noticed it, I am encircled by warriors aiming their weapons at me and magical threads are binding me to the ground, to top it off, there are seven meteors above the atmosphere. And the weapons held by the warriors are enchanted so it can damage a wandering soul like me. This girl truly meant to fight in earnest.
The meteors are swallowed by a black hole. The warriors have stopped their motion and the magical threads was burned to nothingness.
"My expert-level spell Meteor Rain was erased by your expert-level spell Blackhole. The expert-level spell Reality Web that was supposed to immobilized and drain your energy was burned by an intermediate-level spell Fireball fueled by a very potent mana which you controlled to envelop the webs which burned them. And the summoned warriors under my control were stopped by your space-time sage extreme ranked skill, Time Flow Manipulation, which stopped their time." (Hotaru)
The warriors surrounding me disappeared. Hotaru must have returned them to her summoner dimension.
"An A.I. with summoner and mage as occupations, huh. You called me abnormal earlier, but casting high-level spells instantaneously like that is not normal either."
"Impressive, mentor. I have launched a surprise attack when you let your guard down, but even with your carelessness, you were still able to assess the situation and counter every assault I launched. However…" (Hotaru)
I already sensed that very strong spell she was preparing earlier. I used the advanced-level spell Disruption to break down Hotaru's spell before it manifests.
"My Ultimate Sunder…" (Hotaru)
"To think it was the legendary-level spell Ultimate Sunder that was said to be an unleashed force capable of shattering mountains or splitting continents…you sure are crazy."
Spells have level of their own. Transcendent, legendary, expert, advanced, intermediate, and elementary. If you learned a specific number of spells of the same level, you would receive a skill like Elementary-Level Spells that can be obtained by learning elementary level-spells.
And this A.I. girl pulled off high level spells and still have more mana to spare…
"But not as abnormal as mentor who stopped a legendary-level spell with a mere advanced-level spell." (Hotaru)
"You're just sloppy on your spell construction. Prioritizing speed while disregarding the structure of the spell and with the awareness that it will cause your spell's power to plummet down, you tried to substitute structure by overloading the spell with mana to make it powerful. Reflect on that."
"Yes, mentor." (Hotaru)
"With that spar settled, let's head to the campus." Using Teleportation, we arrived at the campus.
"State of the art buildings, signs of various fauna and flora…this place is self-sufficient, except that there are no people besides us." (Hotaru)
"Now then, did the administrator gave you a time limit of learning from me?"
"Yes, the limit was one year." (Hotaru)
"Then, let's set it to ten years."
"Does mentor plan to use Time Flow Manipulation to make it possible? But that scale will require an immense amount of mana." (Hotaru)
"This place is an extreme ranked skill of my Pedagogical Seer occupation, Academy. I can modify the time flow in this place as much as I want without using my skills of my Space-Time Sage occupation. Well then, brace yourself, Hotaru. You will be under my tutelage for one-thousand years."
"Yes, mentor." (Hotaru)
