Shikera waltzed out of the elevator into the secretaries hallway, taken aback by the quiet and empty place she met.

"Did I get off on the wrong floor?" she muttered beneath her breath, prepared to turn back and retrace her steps when a familiar voice reached her ears.

"If she had said she's here for me, he would not be able to stop her from coming up. You think I should call her and ask her to do that?"

It was Ruth's, and that was enough for Shikera to confirm Ethan was on the same floor. She walked down the hallway and when she got to the door, didn't hesitate to push it open.

"Surprise!"

Ruth was the first to escape her seat and approach her. "Shikera?! I was just thinking to call you. How did you get up here?"
