Even though Ethan was trying his best not to smile, the corners of his lips were slightly upturned as he looked away from me for a few seconds before he looked back at me. "You're not just giving me a promise ring cause you feel like you have to?"

I quickly shook my head, "I want to. I really want to because if it's not you, it's no one. Please Ethan."

His gentle chuckle made my heart flutter as he nodded. I was quick to take his left hand and slipped the ring on his ring finger before he did the same for me. I did not want to go for anything flashy because I knew Ethan did not like anything flashy and I wanted to respect it. I just wanted something that symbolises my loyalty to him. 

Inside his band my name was engraved and inside mine was his. 

"It looks very nice on your hand," I smiled shyly. 

"It's my new favourite," he smiled then pressed a kiss to my forehead. "Thank you Demyan, I- I really needed it."
