"Oh," I jutted my bottom lip then continued to hum as I tried to find the right way to respond to Malia being in Russia, "That's good news, at least she's talking to you."

He nodded as he looked out of the kitchen's window with a thoughtful expression, "She's still upset though. She just wonders if you would have gone after me if I didn't move to London. I wonder the same sometimes."

My chest tightened when I heard the huge amount of doubt in his voice and I could see he believed I would have never gone after him. For a moment it forced me to be real with myself. Would have I gone after Demyan when he was not conveniently close enough to me? That I knew I could make the short drive to him instead of a one hour flight.
