Chapter 99: Rescue Mission I - Surprise

Winter had settled over Garnt's village, and its icy grip seemed unyielding. Garnt was determined to see his people through the harshest months. He had his mother Gundo, his girlfriends Rona, Ayra, and Unami by his side, as well as his two adopted brothers and his sister, Baktou, Kara and Kiriah.

Everyone was limited to the warmth of their houses, as most of them didn't even want to come out during this harsh time.

One frigid morning, as the snowflakes danced in the air, Garnt stood at the village centre. His breath formed puffs of vapour in the cold air, and his warm fur cloak fluttered in the breeze. The villagers gathered around, their faces etched with worry, for a massive storm was brewing on the horizon.

Gundo, with a concerned tone, said, "Garnt, the hunting team hasn't returned, and the storm is getting worse. They might be in grave danger."
