Chapter 5: Arcade Adventure!
A loud low boom can be heard waking Damien up from his sleep, followed by a blinding flash of lightning. "Well, it looks like it's going to be pretty shitty out today... fuck." Damien sighs as he starts getting ready for the day.
"Oh, thank god! Looks like the storms are going to die off soon." Damien starts getting dressed to head out for the day.
Damien heads off to the marketplace to get some supplies for school.
"Hm- this seems to be exactly what I- Oh its Sheridan, Hey!" Damien rushes over to see Sheridan.
Sheridan looks over as Damien comes rushing over, she gives a smile and waves "Hey, Damien, Fancy meeting you here."
Damien gives her a small smile "Yeah, it sure is, what brings you here?"
Sheridan studies Damien for a second before replying, "Well, I'm shopping of course. Need to get some supplies and get ready for the upcoming semester."
Damien slaps his hands together lightly and studies Sheridan for a moment, "You- Are you a student at Genesis Academy, as well?" Sheridan giggles, "No silly, I'm an instructor there."
This revelation shocks Damien as he takes a step back. "Wow, I'm sorry if I offended you."
Sheridan giggles again before replying, "No need, I don't mind getting into personal relationships with students, I like to get to know them so it's easier to approach and instruct."
Damien lets out a sigh of relief, "Oh thank god." They both laugh. "So, I may have you as one of my instructors, Sheridan. Looking forward to it!"
Sheridan slightly blushes, "Maybe. Sorry though Damien but I have to go get paperwork done, it was nice seeing you here take care." Damien says his goodbyes and resumes shopping.
Damien finishes getting Supplies and drops them off in his room, "Alright got everything I need now! Time to go relax." Thinking to himself "I wonder if there are any arcades around... the girls just kept showing me where the best food places are." Damien goes outside.
Within the next couple hours, he finds an arcade. "Oh yeah, let's see what they have for games here!"
When he enters the arcade he hears loud intense gaming music, and a few people playing games, but one person catches his eye. A girl looks to be in her early twenties with black hair tied in a ponytail, nice figure, and an intense look on her face as she is playing Wok-Man. Damien walks around toward her to see why she is so intense on such a simple game, and when he approaches, he sees she's currently setting a new high score, doing her best not to die and avoiding the ghosts like a champion. Shocked by the fact Damien lets out "Oh, damn, getting ass!" This causes the girl to mess up and get swallowed by one of the ghosts. She gets up in frustration looking at Damien and punches him square in the chest. "What the fuck was that about, ass!" She yells at Damien. "It's cause of you I wasn't able to continue, how you going to compensate me, huh?!"
Damien, shocked by the strength of the girl, just hangs his mouth open in shock and rubs his chest. "Cat got your tongue now?!" The girl walking up to him stood just a few inches away. Damien can't help but notice how nice she smells, vanilla.
Just as she is about to walk off in a fit, Damien reaches out to her grabbing her arm, "I am so sorry ma'am I was just amazed by your skills that before I knew it the words just slipped out."
The girl turns around, Damien lets go and she studies Damien for a second "Alright- Alright, no need to call me ma'am. And thanks for saying my skills are good."
Damien gives her a smile, "By the way, my name's Damien, may I know your name?" The girl starts looking around the room, "My name is Ariel, now come on you owe me a game!"
As soon as the last few words leave her luscious lips, she grabs Damien by the arm and pulls him to the game Kart-Racer. "Let's go!" She exclaims as she forces Damien into one seat, and she goes to the one right next to him.
Damien gets dominated, "Damn, you're really good at these games!" Slaps the wheel while Ariel burst out laughing. "Well, Dummy, look at the high scores, those are all me." Damien realizes that Ariel scores seem almost too perfect each one only a few points away from the other and he gives her a cocky smirk, "Shall we try this again, Ariel."
She squints her eyes and gives a small nod and victorious smile, "Only if we bet on something, like let's say, if I win this next game you have to pay for my games for the rest of the day, but if you win, I'll pay for your games for the rest of the day." Damien gives a nod "Yeah, I can agree to that."
Damien turns back to his screen and picks a whole new build for the race; Ariel gets started on hers as well and they soon start.
It was a close match, but Damien does not hold anything back and he pulls away from her at the last minute claiming his victory. Damien wins!
"How did you pull that off!" Ariel was shocked to see her top high score get beaten. "Well, I have been practicing and playing games ever since I was a kid. And this just happened to be one of my favorites to play whenever I visited the arcade in my area."
They play a few more games throughout the day and without noticing closing time. Damien walks Ariel out, "Well, that was fun. I haven't had a challenge in a while. Sucks you are only good at Kart-Racer."
Ariel bursts out laughing as she reminisces about her total domination of Damien. Damien just gives her a scornful look, "Yeah-yeah."
Ariel looks around then hands Damien a piece of paper, "Here, this is my phone number. I had a lot of fun tonight and I would like to do this again." Damien gives her a big smile and a nod, "Oh most definitely, can't let you keep winning all these games, someone gotta dethrone!" Ariel giggles, and she heads back to her home waving goodbye to Damien.
Damien returns to his dorm and gets ready for bed, watching some videos on the internet, and texting Ariel.
"Hey Ariel, you make it home alright?" - Damien
"Yeah, I made it home fine, thanks, how about you?" - Ariel
"Yeah, I had fun today! I can't wait to redeem myself from that ass whoopin you gave me." - Damien
"Lol, yeah I did too, and good luck! I will keep practicing, that way you'll never beat me. Mwah-hahahaha." - Ariel
"Yeah, we'll see. When I put my mind to something that I truly want I will get it." - Damien
"Looking forward to it." - Ariel
"What you got going on tomorrow?" - Damien
"I'm meeting up with a few friends, apparently something happened, and we are going to meet up around noon. Why, in that much of a rush to get beaten down again?" - Ariel
"No-no. I was just thinking we can go hang out, but if you already got plans, we can do it sometime next week." - Damien
"That sounds good. Well, it's getting late and I gotta get up early to go to the gym. I will talk to you later, dummy. :P" - Ariel
"Good luck at the gym! And have a good night!" - Damien
Damien curls up and falls asleep.
