Chapter 76: That Sucks

"And what about me? My offer's still on the table." 

Rizz spun around and sauntered over to the oldest patient. Without warning, he poked the bandages. 

"Hey, what's that for?" Straka chuckled with each prod to his freshly healed wounds.

"Hmm… so the healed areas might be ticklish… Interesting." Rizz pulled his hand back. Meeting Straka's gaze, Rizz asked, "How are you feeling? Ready to go kill that damn ram?" 

"Ha! Ha! Skrod asked me the same thing!" 

Straka took in a deep breath. His chest felt fine, but he had aches that Straka didn't know were possible.

"I… don't know when I'll hold a spear again." 

The honest uncertainty in Straka's eyes made Kerl's brain sputter and stall for a few seconds. "Is your path to full recovery that strenuous, Straka?"
