Chapter 54: 54:- Candle

Carta Issue stood on the battlefield, her eyes wide with fury and frustration. Her once-proud Gjallarhorn forces were being mercilessly slaughtered by the Tekkadan mobile suits, and the sight filled her with an uncontrollable rage. She clenched her fists, her white gloves straining under the pressure of her anger.

Her pride as a member of the Issue family, one of the esteemed Seven Stars of Gjallarhorn, fueled her determination to turn the tide of the battle. She was determined to prove herself as a worthy leader, to show that the name "Issue" carried weight and authority.

But then came the news from one of her junior officers. He reported that the mobile workers they had sent to the house of Mr. Makani had been obliterated, falling victim to a trap set by Tekkadan. The news hit her like a physical blow, and her frustration reached a boiling point.

She turned to her subordinate, her voice filled with a mixture of anger and pride. "How could this happen? Do they not know who we are? We are Issues, one of the Seven Stars of Gjallarhorn! Our name alone should strike fear into the hearts of our enemies!"

The junior officer hesitated, well aware of the explosive temper of his superior. "I'm sorry, Carta-sama, but it seems Tekkadan is not an enemy to be underestimated. They are fierce and resourceful."

Carta's eyes blazed with anger as she clenched her teeth. "Fierce and resourceful, you say? Well, they will learn that even the fiercest beasts can be tamed. I will not allow these upstarts to tarnish the name of the Issue family any longer!"

With renewed determination, Carta Issue turned her attention back to the battlefield, her rage burning like a wildfire. She was determined to personally take down the Tekkadan mobile suit responsible for this humiliation and prove that the name "Issue" still held its place in the annals of Gjallarhorn history.

Carta Issue's eyes blazed with fury as she watched the Reaper, the infamous Black Mobile Suit of Tekkadan, continuing his relentless slaughter of her men. The battlefield was chaos, with the screams of Gjallarhorn pilots and the deafening clash of mobile suits reverberating through the air.

One of her subordinates, a young and inexperienced pilot, found himself at the mercy of the Reaper. His voice trembled with fear as he begged for his life, his cries echoing through the local communication system (LCS) for all to hear. Carta clenched her fists tightly, her gloved fingers digging into the controls of her mobile suit.

"No more," she growled to herself, her pride and rage propelling her forward. The Reaper had become a symbol of humiliation and defeat for her, and she would not tolerate his continued presence on the battlefield.

With a powerful thrust of her mobile suit, Carta surged forward, her red-headed Graze unit leading the charge. Her emotions were a whirlwind of anger and determination, drowning out the voice of reason. She saw only one goal in her mind—to confront and defeat the Reaper.

As Carta closed the distance between herself and the Reaper, her Graze unit moved with a grace and precision that belied her rage.

The Reaper, for his part, continued his relentless onslaught, his black mobile suit moving with a deadly efficiency. He seemed unfazed by the chaos around him, his focus solely on his mission to eliminate Gjallarhorn forces.

Finally, the two mobile suits clashed in a thunderous collision. Carta's Graze unit met the Reaper's Black Mobile Suit in a clash of metal and energy.

Carta's rage and determination burned like a wildfire within her. She swung her Graze's blade with incredible speed and precision, aiming for the Reaper's cockpit. She knew that taking him out would be a significant victory, a way to reclaim her pride and honor.

But the Reaper was no ordinary adversary. His movements were fluid and unpredictable, and he deftly parried Carta's attacks with his own katana. The two mobile suits engaged in a fierce and deadly dance, their blades clashing with a deafening cacophony.

As Carta Issue engaged in her fierce battle with the infamous Reaper, her determination burned hotter than ever. She was determined to unmask the pilot behind that black mobile suit, to see the face of the person who had taken the lives of her men and humiliated her on the battlefield.

With a quick and calculated move, she initiated an LCS (Local Communication System) video call, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Reaper's face. Her fingers flew over the controls, and her screen split into two views—one showing her Graze unit and the other displaying the interior of the Reaper's cockpit.

However, as she focused on the video feed from the Reaper's cockpit, she couldn't help but feel a momentary shock when she saw the pilot's face. A boy with golden hair and piercing golden eyes stared back at her from the screen. Her heart skipped a beat, and for a brief moment, she was taken aback by the sight.

Carta had seen her fair share of battles and encountered various enemies, but something about this pilot struck her. His appearance was unlike any other adversary she had faced. There was a certain intensity in his eyes, those lifeless otherworldly eyes.

Ichiro, unaware of the emotions swirling within Carta, seized the opportunity to strike. Her moment of surprise proved to be a costly one.  He moved in swiftly, his mobile suit's blades poised for a deadly blow. But just as he was about to deliver the finishing strike, one of Carta's loyal subordinates intervened, sacrificing his own life to protect her.

The clash was brutal, and the subordinate's Graze unit was no match for the Reaper's deadly precision. In the heat of battle, Ichiro's katana found its mark, and the valiant Gjallarhorn pilot fell, sacrificing himself to protect his commander.

Carta Issue's emotions were in turmoil. She was still processing the sight of the Reaper's face on her screen, and the sacrifice of her loyal subordinate added another layer of complexity to her feelings. In the midst of battle, she had experienced a moment of vulnerability and had been saved by one of her own.

As Carta Issue pointed her sword at the black mobile suit, she couldn't help but feel a surge of determination. This was her chance to confront the Reaper, the pilot who had taken the lives of her comrades and stirred something deep within her. She believed that if she could capture him, perhaps she could find answers.

With unwavering resolve, she spoke, her voice echoing through the battlefield, "Surrender, and your sins will be forgiven."

Ichiro, the pilot of the black mobile suit, responded with a mocking chuckle. His golden eyes gleamed with a mix of amusement and defiance. "Sins... who are you to forgive my sins?"

Carta's determination didn't waver as she repeated her plea, hoping to appeal to whatever sense of reason the Reaper might possess. "I will say it again—surrender."

But Ichiro's laughter only grew louder, and he closed the distance between their mobile suits. Carta felt a rush of adrenaline as the two colossal machines drew near. The tension in the air was palpable, and she couldn't deny the exhilaration she felt.

As Carta Issue's mobile suit faced off against the relentless Reaper, the battle reached its climax. With lightning-fast precision, Ichiro slashed the arms of Carta's machine, rendering it defenseless. The severed limbs of her mobile suit fell to the ground, creating a dramatic and chaotic scene on the battlefield.

Ichiro, with the power of the black katana in one hand and the white katana in the other, was a formidable and relentless force. He had shown no mercy to his adversaries, and Carta was no exception.

With a swift and calculated move, Ichiro executed a powerful kick aimed at Carta's mobile suit's cockpit. The impact jolted the cockpit, causing Carta to sustain a head injury. Blood began to trickle down her face, obscuring her vision. The pain was excruciating, and Carta was in a dazed and disoriented state.

Before Ichiro could deliver the final blow, Carta's subordinates arrived on the scene, their mobile suits moving swiftly to support their fallen leader. Panicked and concerned for Carta's safety, they managed to support her damaged mobile suit.

With Carta in their arms, they fled the battlefield, leaving behind the chaos and destruction that had unfolded. The image of Ichiro, the Reaper, remained etched in their minds—a relentless and formidable adversary who had nearly brought their leader to her demise.
