Ch:12 Soft
Time skip: 1 year.
The shattered moon shone upon Maru's face, her eyes closed listening and feeling the sand underneath her and the cold night air brush against her skin, whistling and bringing the distant sounds of a party to her ears.
The sound of walking made Maru's eyes flutter open and her head to turn in the direction the sound was coming from, her eyes landed on a figure, one who she could recognise under the dim light of the moon.
"Sienna." Maru said with a nod before turning and looking back up towards the sky.
"Maru." Sienna replied with a nod as she sat down next to her.
The two women sat in silence as the sounds of the party continued on. The eerie glow of the shattered moon casting long shadows across the beach.
The long standing silence was broken by Sienna with her asking "why aren't you down with the rest? You're usually the one who spearheads these little get-togethers."
Maru hummed in response continuing to stare at the moon, she then turned her head to face Sienna retorting with a question of her own "why aren't you? You're usually down there making sure my drunk ass isn't doing anything dumb."
Sienna chuckled lightly at the comment and replied, "Remember that time I had to prevent you from making out with that tree?"
Maru smirked and quipped, "Why'd you stop me? That tree was quite the catch."
Sienna chuckled again with Maru soon joining her at the joint experience, Sienna got out between the chuckles "i'm sure it was, but sorry I don't need little tree fox babies running around."
At Sienna saying this Maru's laughter grew quite boisterous as she rolled around in the sand, soon after Sienna joined her in the loud laughter, with hers being more constrained.
After a few moments the pair's laughter started to fade as they turned to stare at the moon in silence again.
After a few more moments the silence between the two was once again broken but this time by Maru "it's a beautiful night isn't it?." She spoke softly.
Sienna hummed in response, not answering with words but confirming that she agreed.
A small smirk appeared on Maru's face as she turned to face the seated White Fang leader, "you know it's more comfortable to lay on the sand right?"
And before Sienna could even contemplate whether or not to agree she was pulled to the ground by Maru, a small uncharacteristically cute eep coming out of her mouth.
Maru just stared perplexed at her boss before saying "well that was a thing."
Sienna just growled with a dust of pink spreading across her cheeks, "you are to tell no one about what just happened."
Maru just chuckled at the expression Sienna was making "it was cute though."
Sienna just growled again at the tease then narrowed her eyes menacingly and repeated "no one, understood?"
Maru's chuckles stopped at the expression promising pain if she doesn't comply, responding "crystal."
The two, with Sienna now laying down, continued to stare at the moon in silence, Maru's eyes soon fluttered closed as the sounds of the wind whistling by and the distant racket that the other members were making once again over took her senses bit this time it had the addition of the heat from the body that lay next to her.
A calming sensation over took Maru as she laid on the beach under the cool night air, the body heat from Sienna slowly lulling her into a deep and comfortable sleep under the stars and light of the shattered moon.

Maru awoke to the soft sound of purring in her ear and slight itchiness all over, remembering the events of the night prior she thought 'going to sleep on the beach was not my smartest idea.'
Going to stand she felt a weight in her arm and that is when she remembered the puring, Maru's eyes moved over to her side to see what was using her arm as a pillow and to say the least that she was surprised by what she saw.
What she saw was the unmoving and lightly purring body of Sienna Khan, grabbing and laying on her now asleep arm.
Maru sat there for a few more moments wide eyed at what she was seeing but quickly gained her wits and smirked.
Pulling out her scroll she took a picture and set it to record.
Maru then had a thought and looked around noticing that no one was around to see this she thought 'thank oum this place is so far away from everyone else.' She then turned back to the large cat still asleep on her arm. ' This is going to make the best black mail. I best save it for something special.'
Stopping the recording she lay back down and turned her head towards Sienna, another smirk grew on her face as she decided to do something that in any other situation would end with her skinned.
Maru reached her other arm over to Sienna's head and she started to pat it, starting in the middle of the ears then moving on to them, Sienna's purring intensified as she nuzzled deeper into her arm.
Maru chuckled, still patting her ears, the usually stern woman's purrs continuing all the while.
But all things must come to an end, as Sienna stirred slightly Maru's hand couldn't be on her other side faster, she then closed her eyes and pretended to sleep as Sienna opened hers in turn and tried to get her bearings as she fully awoke.
She lifted her head off of Maru's arm still only half awake not registering the situation, but slowly the gears in her head rotated and the ground to a sudden halt at noticing the pillow she used was in fact Maru's arm.
She then looked towards Maru's face to see whether she was awake and deadpanned at her feeble attempt to appear asleep, she then sat up and said "Maru I know you're awake."
Maru straightened up at this but she continued to pretend to be asleep.
Somehow Sienna's deadpan deepened as she sighed again " Maru you know you can't fool me."
A sigh escaped Maru's lips as she sat up and said dramatically "it's been a short life but it was decent enough while it lasted though im kinda upset that I couldn't finish all my goals."
Sienna's deadpan on how deepened again as she stood, she then kicked Maru gaining a smirk at the squawk she let out, then walked away muttering something about "idiot foxes."
Maru sat there staring at the retreating figure of Sienna then her hands as she had a thought 'they were so soft.'
She then got up following Sienna slightly before turning towards her apartment.

Opening the door she saw Nyx and Virdis sat up watching some sort of movie looking like they hadn't slept in a week.
Noticing Maru walking in they turned to her with the same thought only Nyx decided to voice this thought "where the fuck were you last night?" Looking her up and down he noticed that she looked slightly disheveled and covered in sand "and why the fuck are you covered in sand?"
The only response they received was a very happy Maru walking to the bathroom shouting "fucking worth it."
The other two Faunus looked at each other then shrugged and went back to the movie they were watching.
A/N thank you for reading this chapter was kinda supposed to be a shorter interlude between the more serious arcs so I hope you enjoyed because it was very fun to write and im sorry this was a little bit late but i got an idea for another fic so I just didnt get around to posting this it that fic wont be posted for a while and I wont just drop off the map for this so if its ending I will make sure to let you know but i have no intentions of doing that anytime soon so Maru's random ass adventures shall continue. As always if anyone has any ideas on how to make this better or questions do ask Thx:)
