Chapter 158: The Monarch Organization
If Kara was ever going to be deceived, Russell was the only one who could do it.
He didn't trust any other man to do so.
Although Kara hadn't interacted with Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, as Russell had mentioned, she knew who he was talking about.
Upon hearing Russell's words, Kara didn't immediately respond. Instead, she raised an eyebrow and gave him a mischievous look.
Russell noticed Kara's current expression but chose not to say anything because he had already guessed what she was going to say next.
As expected, just as he had anticipated, Kara didn't have good intentions. After giving him a provocative look for a few seconds, she opened her alluring red lips and, with a soft, coquettish tone she hadn't used before, provocatively said, "Are you jealous?"
"No, I'm not," Russell replied with a straight face.
"You are jealous; otherwise, why would you ask me to keep my distance from him?" Kara continued, pretending to be innocent.
"I wouldn't be jealous of something that hasn't happened yet."
"But what if it really happens?"
Kara clearly had no intention of letting Russell off the hook so easily.
Seeing Kara's current coquettish and somewhat challenging attitude, Russell set down his glass of wine and looked at her seriously.
Then, he said in a solemn tone, "If it really happens, I'll make him understand how serious the consequences are for encroaching on someone else's territory."
"As for you, I'll make sure you understand the consequences of flirting with other men."
Although Russell spoke seriously, Kara didn't seem ready to end this topic. She continued, "What are the consequences?"
"He'll be in trouble, and you'll get a spanking!"
Kara had expected Russell to say something cruel, but she hadn't anticipated him giving such a response.
Uh...
For Johnny, the consequences were indeed quite severe. But for Kara, the consequences were a bit...
Kara's fair and delicate oval face instantly turned red. She awkwardly put down her glass of wine and adopted a more serious posture, dropping her alluring pose.
Although Russell's tone wasn't very stern, Kara knew he was serious. If she really flirted with Johnny, Russell would ensure she experienced a "cruel" consequence that was more of a mental punishment than a physical one.

After finishing their drinks in the office and having Kara change back into her office attire, Russell left the company with her.

The most important thing was that from now on, if he and Kara had dinner outside, it meant he would have to have two dinners in one evening.

There was still one more dinner waiting for him with Diana!
Although Diana had agreed to his limited-time relationship with Kara, she had no intention of being single.
This meant that Russell now had to juggle the affairs of two girlfriends.
After arriving at a western restaurant in a self-driving Porsche 911, Russell and Kara found a quiet spot away from the crowd to enjoy their dinner.
After dinner, they returned to the apartment together.

Most of the things that could be done as a couple had been done by him and Kara. Except for the most crucial step they hadn't taken yet, they had done everything else more than once.
But the system refused to acknowledge him as Kara's boyfriend.
Although Diana was unaware of the system's existence, she could tell from Russell's behavior whether he had obtained Kara's "constitution" or not.
Days went by, and even though he hadn't received the "Kryptonian Heritage" yet, Russell was quite satisfied with his life. After the initial adjustment period, he had quickly adapted to his life and managed his time efficiently.
In this month, he had reduced the frequency of his "daily acts of kindness." He no longer needed these small deeds to boost his reputation significantly.
As long as Gwen, Kara, and the others continued to fight crime outside, his and the Justice League's image would become more deeply ingrained in people's minds.
One day, while Russell was playing a video game in the chairman's office, his personal email received an urgent message.
He didn't pay much attention to the email while he was immersed in the game.
"Sir, Agent Romanoff has sent an urgent email. Would you like to view it now?" The synthetic voice of No. 3 spoke.
Hearing No. 3's voice, Russell furrowed his brow slightly.
An email from Natasha?
Natasha had returned to S.H.I.E.L.D. and successfully infiltrated the organization without arousing suspicion. Although Natasha had followed Russell's instructions and acted as a spy, she hadn't gathered much useful information in the past month.
Russell wasn't particularly interested in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret operations. As for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s investigation into his secrets, he didn't pay it much mind either.
Unless there was something extremely urgent, Natasha wouldn't send a separate email.
"Show it to me," Russell said, setting aside his game controller.
"Yes, sir."
No. 3 projected the secret email sent by Natasha.
Russell had initially thought that S.H.I.E.L.D. was planning another secret operation related to him, which was why Natasha had sent an urgent email.
However, as he read the contents of Natasha's email, his expression became increasingly incredulous.
How was this possible?

Russell browsed through Natasha's email, feeling puzzled.
Although the email didn't contain much information, it was entirely unexpected.

Russell felt like he couldn't quite grasp this universe anymore.
Suppressing his shock, he said to No. 3, "Contact General Ross immediately."
