Go to Canaan College

"Then you're in for a treat today," Instructor Ruolin's eyes glistened as she blinked, her laughter gentle.

Lu Yunxiao offered a faint smile, glancing around. At this moment, only a few new students were present, standing to the side rather timidly, displaying a sense of restraint.

Shifting his gaze, Lu Yunxiao looked at Instructor Ruolin and softly inquired, "Teacher Ruolin, when should we depart?"

"Shortly after four o'clock. Let's wait a bit, giving the freshmen more time to prepare," Instructor Ruolin replied with a slight smile.

"Alright!" Lu Yunxiao nodded upon hearing her response and refrained from saying more.

As the sun ascended higher in the sky, the time drew closer.

The freshmen had all arrived, alongside some old students, Canaan College's teachers, and the guardian troops. Altogether, there were around 80 to 90 individuals.

The assembly was divided into five teams, each led by a teacher and accompanied by guardian soldiers responsible for guiding and safeguarding the new students.

"Yunxiao, come with us," Instructor Ruolin smiled gently at Lu Yunxiao and softly directed.

"Sure!" Lu Yunxiao responded. He didn't recognize anyone here; his acquaintances included only Mentor Ruolin and a few senior sisters. It was wise to stick with them.

Additionally, Instructor Ruolin was an attractive woman. While Lu Yunxiao wasn't interested in her, her presence was less daunting than being surrounded by a group of senior masters.

Furthermore, according to Teacher Ruolin, she was slated to become his future mentor. Cultivating a good relationship with her mentor was essential.

After all, it could come in handy when skipping classes or requesting leave—prudent planning for Lu Yunxiao's life at Canaan College.

Over here, Instructor Ruolin received Lu Yunxiao's affirmative response. She smiled sweetly, her moist eyes glimmering with brightness, and her smile carried a hint of allure.

"Everyone, form lines and get ready to board," Instructor Ruolin addressed the crowd softly.

At that moment, a lengthy wooden ladder extended to the back of the griffin beasts. This ladder would help the new students ascend onto the creatures' backs, as their large and tall frames made direct boarding difficult.

The group lined up and began ascending the ladder.

As cultivators, their climbing speed wasn't slow. Lu Yunxiao was the last of the new students, yet he soon found himself at the front of the line.

Taking a glance at the griffin beast, Lu Yunxiao observed that it was sitting about six meters high. Standing beneath it, it appeared quite imposing.

However, for Lu Yunxiao, a height of six meters was nothing. When he employed the Sky Flying Fairy technique, he could easily leap several meters high.

With a light tap of his toes, Lu Yunxiao soared upwards like a bird.

Within a second, he had landed on the back of the griffin beast.

The feathers of the griffin were somewhat slippery, and most individuals would slip slightly upon boarding, requiring a moment to find their balance. But Lu Yunxiao was like a javelin—steady and unwavering—much like a needle amidst a sea.

"Good lad, truly extraordinary," Instructor Ruolin murmured appreciatively upon witnessing Lu Yunxiao's movements.

Without hesitation, she jumped and landed gracefully on the griffin's back, positioning herself beside Lu Yunxiao.

Older students followed suit, climbing up one after another, until everyone was on board.

The wooden ladder was removed, and at the pilot's signal, the griffin beasts unfurled their wings, starting a slow ascent.

Watching the ground dwindle in size below, Lu Yunxiao's eyes sparkled; the experience was enthralling.

Within a minute or two, the griffin beast reached a considerable height, several hundred meters above ground, rendering the people below mere specks. The beast then flapped its wings, proceeding steadily in a specific direction.

Lu Yunxiao looked into the distance, where the land was now hundreds of meters below. The rush of wind tousled his clothing and hair.

Clad in white attire, with his hair fluttering, Lu Yunxiao exuded a perfect, otherworldly charm. Today, he emanated an aura of cool indifference—ethereal and ageless.

"You're flying at such an altitude for the first time. Aren't you the least bit afraid? Some of the freshmen are trembling," Instructor Ruolin approached Lu Yunxiao's side. The altitude was quite high, but the griffin's speed was moderate, so they could still converse audibly.

"Are you afraid, Instructor Ruolin?" Lu Yunxiao responded lightly without turning to look at her.

"I've grown accustomed to it. I was a bit nervous the first time, but you seem pretty composed. It's unlike someone who's never been on a flying beast before," Instructor Ruolin said as she held onto the railing beside the wooden basket, her smile gentle.

"Perhaps I have a natural immunity to heights. Standing at a great height makes me feel at ease and exhilarated. The view of mountains and land stretching out before my eyes is truly marvelous." Lu Yunxiao extended his hand and allowed the wind that slipped through the gaps to brush his fingers, his expression faintly intoxicated.

Upon hearing this, Instructor Ruolin was momentarily taken aback, a smile eventually gracing her lips as she murmured, "Yunxiao, you're truly unique. I'm starting to look forward to your time at Canaan Academy, alongside the Little Demon Girl and the others. I believe it'll be quite interesting."

"Little Demon Girl?" Lu Yunxiao's eyes narrowed, tinged with interest. He looked at Instructor Ruolin and inquired softly, "What's her strength likely to be now?"

"Well, she enrolled before you. By now, she should have reached the level of a Nine-Star Fighter."

"Nine-Star Fighter..." Lu Yunxiao turned his gaze away, muttering to himself.

...

The griffin beasts soared through the sky, passing over the cities of the Gama Empire.

Traveling during the day and resting in the evening, the journey took half a month before arriving at Town Ghost Pass.

Town Ghost Pass was the final checkpoint within the Gama Empire. Beyond this pass lay the boundaries of the empire.

According to Instructor Ruolin, once they exited the Gama Empire, they would wait a while to rendezvous with other recruitment teams from the empire. Concurrently, the exclusive guards of Canaan Academy would escort them. After all, the Black Point Region was notorious for its chaos—a realm devoid of law and morality, defined only by bloodshed and violence.

Without a special guard escort, traversing the Black Point Region and reaching Canaan College would be exceedingly perilous.

At this moment, Lu Yunxiao and the others had exited Town Ghost Pass. They would rest outside the pass for two days, awaiting the arrival of other teams and guards, before proceeding to Canaan College together.
