Chapter 35: 35. What-ifs

Was George able to hide his feelings? Was he able to stop himself from expressing them while he was with Anna?

Of course, he couldn't do that but the only way he was able to avoid that was by maintaining a satisfied distance from Anna.

Ever since the day Anna declared harshly that she didn't want to get married to him even if it was to save her father's business, George lost his hope.

George decided to spend time with other people, he started making friends and was searching for Shen Xiang's sister who might help in proving that Anna was innocent.

This had been keeping George busy enough to not be so affected by Anna. Sometimes, George wishes that when he visited Anna, she'd complain about him taking so long to visit her just like she did when she woke up but she doesn't.

George would wish that she would get upset but she just calmly and mundanely accommodated him whenever he showed up.
