"Lorna's been arrested? You've got a plan to get her out, right?" Sonia eagerly inquired as Max ended the phone call.
"Absolutely, and I have more than one plan." Max's confident response brought a sigh of relief from Sonia. "I've asked John to come back. You don't need to get involved; I'll handle it and bring Lorna back."
"Can't we assist?" Sonia pressed.
Max smiled and shook his head. "I've got it covered."
"Then be careful!" Sonia hugged Max with concern. "Waiting for you to return with Lorna."

Meanwhile, in a cell at a Mutant placement center.
Lorna sat on the bed against the wall, her hands wrapped around her knees, a blue neck ring tightly secured around her neck.
Just half an hour ago, she and John had rushed to aid a hunted Mutant.
While they could have escaped safely, Lorna's emotions had slightly spiraled out of control during the retreat. Unwittingly, she unleashed her powers, even taking the initiative to attack.
As a result, they found themselves surrounded. Although John had intended to come back for her, Lorna had driven him away. Even if he returned now, it seemed futile!
The cell door swung open, and Jestner walked in, observing Lorna as he spoke slowly, "Lorna Dane, codenamed Polaris, one of the leaders of the Mutant underground organization. Your attack on the SSS's support troops last time led to your swift capture."
Lorna glanced around nonchalantly. "The environment here isn't too shabby."
Jestner smirked. "This is just temporary. Soon, you'll be relocated to a different place—a place where no one escapes. But... if you're willing to cooperate, perhaps I can arrange a more comfortable setting for you."
"I have no idea what you're talking about!" Lorna retorted.
Jestner chuckled. "Lorna."
"Call me Polaris."
"Miss Lorna, I believe you've misunderstood." Jestner shook his head. "Dealing with the Mutant underground organization is troublesome, but capturing you and the others is a natural process. What I want to discuss about Sacred Gate!"
"Have you hired him before? He's just a money-driven mercenary! Consider if it's worth missing your only chance for a mercenary!"
With that, Jestner turned and left.
The door closed with a resounding thud, and Lorna, without uttering a word, simply curled her lips in disapproval.
Outside the sealed room, Jestner lowered his hand and inquired, "Are you all set?"
"Yes, all agents are on standby, and Sentinel is ready."
"What about in the cell?" Jestner pressed on.
"As soon as there's any biological heat, the poisonous gas will be released instantly. Inhaling even a small amount will induce drowsiness within three seconds!"
"Good."
Jestner nodded in satisfaction. The Mutant underground organization should consider hiring Max for rescue missions. Several contacts had made Jestner acutely aware that no secure cell could hold Max for long. Therefore, he planned to strike when Max emerged to save someone.
Normally, Jestner would locate the cell where Lorna was held and employ his Ability to effect the rescue. Despite the high level of secrecy surrounding the location, Jestner was confident Max would find it. He had even informed the district attorney to prepare for the takeover. This incident presented Max with an opportunity to locate the facility, and once he arrived, there would be no escape.
To that end, Jestner had implemented numerous targeted measures, ensuring everything was in place, awaiting only the crucial moment.
However, the unfolding events took an unexpected turn.
"We have news from the seventh block…" A personnel entered the monitoring room, observing Jestner's conversation.
"What's the news?" Jestner inquired, a slight furrow forming on his brow.
"The park in the seventh block has disappeared."
"The park disappeared?" Jestner was taken aback.
"Yes, every tree, building, and structure in the park vanished. Now, only an empty expanse remains.
"It must be him!" Jestner slammed the table, speaking with seriousness. "Where are the people? Is anyone injured?"
"I'm not sure if there's anyone in the park at the moment!" The phone rang again after the caller finished speaking, and he quickly answered, displaying an incredulous expression. "I see, upload the video immediately."
After hanging up, he turned to Jestner and stated, "It's confirmed. It's the Sacred Gate. He's appeared in another block, and this time..." He faltered, unsure of how to articulate the situation, deciding to let Jestner see for himself.
The screen in front of Jestner displayed the transmitted video.
In the footage, Max stood in front of a building, smiling at the camera. He pointed towards the structure, then bent over, placing his palm on the ground.
In the next moment, a door materialized on the ground, resembling the entrance to a bedroom in an ordinary home.
"What is he going to do?" Jestner frowned, his words reflecting both confusion and concern.
The peculiar aspect was not just the appearance of the door on the ground; it seemed to be expanding, growing larger in an unusual manner. Beyond Max's position, the door frame and door panel rapidly extended in three other directions, enveloping the surroundings. The scope of the phenomenon continued to increase, and it seemed as if the entire building was swiftly being covered.
An unsettling feeling crept over Jestner as he observed the scene. It was as if the building wasn't constructed on the ground but rather atop this mysterious door.
Jestner couldn't shake the ominous premonition building within him.
