Chapter 43: Embarrassment (Edited)
Lorna quickly emerged from the building, heading towards Max's car. She expressed her urgency to Max, saying, "If there's a situation here, I must return immediately!"
"No problem!" Max responded with a smile, waving his hand. He opened the car door, inviting her in, and they embarked on a drive home that felt like traversing through a different space.
As they approached the well-lit villa, Max and Lorna entered. Inside, Viper and Yukio, clad in pajamas, were engrossed in TV. Their eyes met Max and Lorna, creating a moment of silent acknowledgment.
This encounter marked their first meeting. Max took the initiative to introduce, "Yukio, Viper, meet Polaris Lorna. She's temporarily joining us as a team member and is a leader of the Mutant Underground organization."
Nods and smiles exchanged, Yukio and Viper greeted Lorna while she reciprocated with a smile towards Max.
Unaware of the subtle exchange, Max continued, "Your room is upstairs; come with me. Oh, and there's another person upstairs, Shadowcat Kitty, a member of the X-Men. I found her locked up when I was searching for Pulse. Rescued her on the way; by the way, I was seriously injured and needed recovery. I'll introduce you to her tomorrow."
Understanding dawned on Lorna as she realized, "No wonder you're wanted by the Sentry Secret Service or on TV!"
Heading upstairs, Max arranged a room for Lorna and provided a brief overview before allowing her to rest. Though not luxurious, the environment surpassed the Mutant Underground base in comfort. Thanks to the inviting bed, Lorna had a peaceful night's sleep, untroubled by concerns about the Sentry Secret Service or the base's situation.

The following day, Lorna, feeling refreshed after a hot shower, descended to find Yukio had prepared breakfast. Max informed her, "I was just about to call you. Join us for breakfast; we'll discuss our plans afterward."
Expressing her contentment, Lorna remarked, "You've created a comfortable haven here."
Max chuckled, "You're welcome to stay."
After breakfast, the trio, comprising Viper, Lorna, and Max, headed to the laboratory, leaving Yukio to deliver breakfast to Kitty upstairs.
Lorna was taken aback to find an array of equipment in the basement. Upon entering, she swung the door open and joined a laboratory that felt like a realm apart.
"What is all this for?" she queried.
"Researching some gadgets. In the future, if someone on your team gets injured, you can send them here," Max explained briefly before outlining the tasks for Lorna.
Initially indifferent as a model, Lorna's curiosity was piqued upon hearing the request. "You never mentioned getting naked," she confronted Max.
Max nonchalantly shrugged. "This is the only way I can understand the body structure in detail and accuracy. If you can't accept it, no worries; I'll find someone else."
"Why me? Yukio or Sonia would suffice," Lorna suggested.
Max hesitated. "It's a bit awkward. I was concerned that I'd have no backup plan if you declined due to lack of funds."
"I am embarrassed?" Lorna retorted.
Viper interjected unexpectedly, "No need to get completely named; at least you can wear your panties."
Perplexed, Max questioned, "Don't you need to get completely naked? Like last time?"
Viper turned to Max, addressing the unspoken thoughts. "The structure of men and women is different."
Taking a deep breath, Lorna faced Max with determination. "Three times, you have to help me for free, no, five times! Otherwise, I'm out, and you can't breathe a word of this to anyone."
Max nodded in reluctant agreement.
Frowning, Lorna said, "I still feel a bit lost."
Max reassured, "It's no big deal. It's just us here."
Lorna shot him an annoyed look, muttering, "Fuck off" She turned around, complying with Viper's instructions.
Lying down, Lorna closed her eyes. "Hurry up, and don't peek."
"Let's begin!" Viper announced, commencing the procedure.
This situation proved uncomfortable not just for Lorna but also for Max.
Although Max was deeply engrossed in Viper's explanation, he couldn't completely ignore the nagging feeling. Luckily, this awkwardness was short-lived. Viper explained swiftly, and Max caught on remarkably fast.
By morning, Max had essentially mastered the concept.
Observing Lorna's enthusiastic efforts to get dressed and head out.
