Ruby Gregory lowered her eyes and remained silent.

Madeleine paused for a moment and then suddenly turned her head to look at Ruby and said, "My brother hurt his leg a few days ago."

When Ruby heard this, she clenched her hands unconsciously. She remembered that day when she was almost hit by a motorcycle on her way home from the supermarket after work.
