After speaking, she sat up and patted the spot next to her. "Just sit here by me, and it'll be fine."

Alexander looked at her pale face and said, "Do you want to go to the hospital?"

"No need."

She moved backward and leaned on the sofa, tilting her head in his direction.

"Do you want water?" he asked.
