Chapter 101: Monument of the Holy White Council

Artel felt a deep sense of satisfaction, acknowledging that Ring Of Air played a crucial role in his newfound abilities and successes. He understood that, on his own, the journey ahead was long, but with the assistance of the system, the path would significantly shorten, almost infinitely.

Excitement filled him as he envisioned a future where he could instill fear in everyone without relying on external tools. The recent incident involving Quirrell and the lost dragon egg left Artel contemplating the potential consequences.

During dinner, Artel noticed the absence of Professor Quirrell and the lack of chatter among classmates regarding him. Speculating that Quirrell might not have returned to Hogwarts, Artel surmised that the professor might be recovering outside the school, especially since the next day was Sunday with no classes scheduled.

Artel had informed Dumbledore about Quirrell's issues but observed no immediate action. Pondering the situation, he speculated that Dumbledore might be using the opportunity to test and train Harry Potter. Additionally, with the emergence of a more formidable adversary, Dumbledore might be considering future alliances, possibly even with Voldemort.

Deciding to focus on refining potions during this period, Artel contemplated his next goal. While considering adopting the persona of Saruman, he dismissed the idea due to the character's negative traits. Gandalf, on the other hand, posed a challenge. Artel acknowledged that Gandalf's noble and heroic character might clash with his intended actions, risking world acceptance issues.

Reflecting on the intricacies of character portrayal, Artel decided to stick to his initial plan. He aimed to immortalize Gandalf as a legendary figure through recorded deeds rather than assuming the character's identity. As for Sauron...

That guy was a real piece of work.

Sauron's essence lingered, his all-seeing eye fixed on Mordor, patiently awaiting his chance for a comeback.

Artel will conquer him one day. But he couldn't do it alone. Artel knew he needed a legion of minions to make it happen. So, he had to delve back into the dark arts, concocting Orcish potions and amassing his own army.

"When Dumbledore catches wind of that parchment from Quirrell's hideout, he'll turn to Gandalf for answers, suspecting betrayal..." Artel mused, plotting his next move.

"With Dumbledore's sharp mind, Saruman will be in the spotlight, but not without doubt. Dumbledore will dig deeper, searching for more evidence..." he reasoned further.

Looking through the system store, Artel scoured for something to bolster Gandalf's tale, something to make it more believable.

"Gandalf, oh Gandalf, I'm going through all this trouble for you..." he muttered to himself, scrolling through the options until his eyes landed on the perfect item.

"Ah, this is it!" Artel exclaimed, excitement coursing through him as he exchanged 300 plot points for the crucial artifact.

A chime rang out, signaling his successful acquisition of the [Monument of the Holy White Council].

A modest stone tablet materialized before him, engraved with the names of those who attended the pivotal meeting of the Third Era. Among them, Gandalf's refusal to lead, leaving Saruman to assume the mantle of leadership. It was the perfect piece to weave into Gandalf's narrative, adding a touch of authenticity to his fabricated story.

Saruman was always envious of Gandalf's power. This envy ultimately led to Saruman's betrayal.

However, these details are not etched onto the stele.

On the front side of the stele, the names of Saruman, Gandalf, Galadriel, Elrond, and other members are engraved. The back side bears the date and time of the meeting.

The inscription mentions that in the year 2460 of the Third Era, Sauron returned, and the border warning ended without conflict. Consequently, a meeting of the Third Era was convened to discuss how to confront Sauron and choose a leader.

This is a genuine artifact, commissioned by Elrond, the lord of the valley. After millennia of change and upheaval, it has acquired a patina of age, a testament to the passage of time.

Moreover, the stone tablet is imbued with magic; when activated, it projects a vivid image of the meeting as it occurred. Most importantly, it retains a trace of the magical essence of each participant, serving as irrefutable proof of their existence.

Artel caressed the stone tablet, sensing the latent power and the breath of magic within. He drew his wand, adorned with the ring of breath, and aimed it at Saruman's name.

The wand moved with a deliberate slowness.

With a sharp crackling sound, a deep scratch marred Saruman's name!

This simple act of defacement drained Artel of a considerable amount of magical energy, leaving him drenched in a cold sweat.

"Whew! What material is this made of? It's nearly indestructible!"

Artel mused, carefully stowing the ring of air and the stone tablet back into his system space.

He knew he had to carefully consider where to place this artifact, and how to discreetly reveal it to other wizards.
