Chapter 2: Emergency Meeting-1
The night fell, and the news that Kyuubi was killed by Fourth Hokage brought relief to the general population of the village.
Almost everything was destroyed, including the Uchiha clan. Afterall, Kyuubi was summoned in the outskirts of the clan.
Mikoto was handling the clan, while Fugaku headed towards the Hokage Building for the emergency meeting. While og Fugaku was a fence sitter, the now Fugaku is different. He felt really happy that he had a healthy body for the first time in life, and genuinely wanted to protect the clan and Fugaku's family, thanking him for the healthy body.

All major clan heads, Third Hokage and his advisors, sat in silence as Shikaku Nara, the Jonin Commander, read out the reports of the losses. The losses were as great as the Third Ninja War, and the village was left very weak.
"Now, we must elect a Hokage. I suggest Hiruzen to take the mantle for now."
One of Hiruzen's friend said, and many agreed. Everyone raised their hands in support, except Danzo, and surprisingly, Fugaku.
"I suggest Orochimaru to take the mantle. Hiruzen is too old."
No one really agreed with him, so Danzo could only snort in disgust. Now, all the eyes were on Fugaku.
"I propose Tsunade Senju to be called back to take the mantle as Hokage, and Third Hokage, Orochimaru-san and Jiraya-san to be established as elders. Our village is very weak right now, so the two students of Third Hokage must be called back. Plus having Tsunade Senju to train a large number of medical ninjas would rapidly help us in regaining our strength."
"I agree with Uchiha-san on that."
Surprisingly, it was Shikaku who agreed first. To be honest, he didn't really want to involve himself in the politics, but what Fugaku proposed was the most reasonable proposal.
One by one, all clan leaders agreed except Hiruzen and Co.
"I am sorry to say, but Tsunade can't come-"
"Why Third Hokage? It has already been years since she lost her brother and lover. Why is she allowed to be off duty for so long? Everyone here has lost someone close to them. You yourself just lost your wife. Even if she doesn't want to become the Hokage, she has to become an advisor and create strong medical power in Konoha. Just because she is the granddaughter of First Hokage doesn't mean that she should get special treatment."
Fugaku was hell bent on removing Hiruzen's advisors from power. It was undeniable that Hiruzen was the strongest among them, though he is not sure if he can win against his Mangekyo. 12-13 years later, when Hiruzen must have become much weaker, was able to battle Orochimaru who had become much stronger and even used Edo Tensei, and Hiruzen was still able to seal Orochimaru's arms.
But Hiruzen was not that strong in making decisions. Leaving Danzo scot-free even after his own assassination attempt was all proof he needed that he wasn't fit for being the Hokage.
Hiruzen sighed.
"I will tell Jiraya to search for her. Till then, I will temporarily handle the village."
"Alright. But Third Hokage-sama, can you disclose the identity of the assailant? How was he able to know about the location of Kushina's pregnancy? Even Mikoto didn't know anything about it, despite being her best friend. That clearly means that there is a mole in the upper echelon, and while I can trust you because you wouldn't endanger your own wife, the three advisors are clearly suspicious. And why wasn't Jiraya-san present here in such a critical moment? Was he informed or not? And why is Orochimaru-san sent on a mission during this timeframe? If it were me, I would have atleast one Sanin inside the village during such a critical moment."
"Fugaku Uchiha! Are you suspecting us!?"
Danzo shouted.
"Give me one reason I shouldn't. Why weren't any of you there to sacrifice yourself instead of the young Minato? Why did you order the Uchiha clan to not join the resistance against Kyuubi? Why were Anbu staring at us instead of helping against the Kyuubi or helping us to take out the people from the rubble and escort them to the shelter?"
"That is indeed suspicious, why? Because only the upper echelon knew about the location of the Jinchuriki's delivery."
"Uchiha Fugaku, did you know what controlled the Kyuubi in the first place?"
Danzo attacked back. Many people have seen the Sharingan pattern in Kyuubi's eyes. So it is undeniable that Sharingan was used.
"Mangekyo Sharingan."
"So what do you have to say about that!?"
"Having Sharingan doesn't necessarily mean Uchiha, does it? Kakashi can handle 3 tomoe Sharingan, so it wouldn't be too much to say someone like an Uzumaki will be able to use even Mangekyo. And we don't know if Madara had any relationships when he left the village. Either there can be an Uzumaki or Madara's descendant who wants revenge."
"Wait!? What do you mean Uzumaki wanting revenge!? Weren't Konoha and Uzumaki brothers!?"
"Didn't the information that Uzumaki clan has been attacked reach us only after it was wiped out? What were the upper echelon doing at that time? That was complete failure of Third Hokage and his advisors. Uzumakis are terrifying, and said to be the older sister of Senju and Uchiha. If they wanted, they could have easily dominated the world by having all the nine bijuus. Atleast some must have survived. And the assailant being Madara's descendant is still on the table. No one else can handle the Mangekyo. Was the assiliant captured or killed by Minato?"
Hiruzen, who has been silent till now, finally spoke up.
"Fugaku, what makes you so sure that it was an attack, and not an accident? Minato didn't reveal about the assailant in his last breaths."
"Because it is impossible to release Kyuubi without any outside interference. Mito-sama gave birth without any problem with the help of Second Hokage. And Minato as proficient as Second Hokage in fuinjutsu. Let's say, that it was an accident, why did Minato appeared after so long? And like Danzo pointed out, it was controlled by Mangekyo Sharingan. That was no accident. Instead of trying to deny it, we must strengthen ourselves. Mangekyo means someone on the level of Madara has enemity against us, even the Uchiha Clan as they summoned the Kyuubi in the outskirts of our clan. We don't have anyone like Hashirama Senju to protect us. We must unite and look for the assiliant. If they had the Mangekyo, it might be very possible that they are still alive and wiped out Minato's memory of them."
Everyone got a chill running down their spine at the thought of someone of Madara's level against them, and the possibility that he/she may have wiped out Minato's memory to remain unknown.
In his mind, Fugaku was thinking that he is going towards the right direction. If everyone had the suspicion that someone that strong is waiting for revenge, they would less likely to wipe out the Uchiha, who can be a counter against them. Plus the assiliant being Madara's descendant or an Uzumaki will lead to less suspicions on Uchiha and many would blame Third Hokage and Co.
"Let's talk about this later. First, we must discuss the rebuilding if the village."
Hiruzen said, looking older and older as the discussion continued.
"Third Hokage-sama, with all due respect, I don't trust the capabilities of your advisors anymore. They neither have the strength nor the ability to advise you anymore. Uzumaki and Senjus were wiped out during your reign, and the blame falls on your advisors too. I suggest Orochimaru-san and Shikaku-san to be the advisors for the time being till Tsunade Senju returns. I can't trust them even temporarily. Especially Danzo with how he was preventing Uchihas to participate in fight against Kyuubi, as if he wants to spread the rumours like we didn't help in anyway and blame us for your own blunder in management."
"I second that. Atleast Danzo must be replaced by Shikaku-san. Why? Because Aburame Clan was being targeted by him in the past."
"Well, Danzo is certainly a very suspicious character. And Shikaku will be much better advisor than any of us in the building. And isn't Orochimaru also very smart and was the candidate of Fourth Hokage besides Minato? I think it is time for the advisors to retire."
Some agreed, some disagreed and some remained neutral like the Ino-Shika-Cho and the Hyuga Clan.
Hiruzen's advisors, especially Danzo protested. But by majority, Danzo was replaced by Shikaku by the majority.
Fugaku mentally sighed with some victory. Atleast he removed Danzo from his official seat. He wasn't going to just 'Hn' like Fugaku and lay at the mercy of Hiruzen and Co. He was a middle aged uncle, and he will never get tired from arguing until the other party gave up.
