Chapter 145: The Plan

"You have to understand, we Mutants aren't like ordinary people. Carving out a home is within my capabilities. It's been planned for some time now, though I had hoped to choose the right moment. Now, I must act sooner," Alex explained softly, his words sincere.

Initially, he had considered waiting for the inception of the Avengers initiative, capitalizing on the external threat posed by the Chitauri to legitimize the creation of a Mutant nation. The internal conflict between humans and Mutants would then pale in comparison to an alien invasion, paving the way for their autonomy.

However, Nick Fury's preemptive actions had disrupted these plans, necessitating an accelerated approach to nation-building.

Alex sighed, rubbing his temples. Establishing the nation prematurely would undoubtedly attract attention and complications. He hoped the Monkey King's abilities wouldn't be overlooked amidst the complexities—his seventy-two transformations, keen perception, and the formidable golden cudgel were invaluable assets.

"My friends, do you realize what this means? Are you saying you can create an entire continent?" Eric posed the question, his tone commanding the attention of everyone present.

Even Jean, a fifth-level Mutant with mastery over elements, hesitated to claim such a feat.

"Destruction is far simpler than creation," Charles concluded, acknowledging the daunting task ahead.

"Absolutely, but recreating a landmass like the American continent is too ambitious. We only need to construct an island large enough to accommodate all Mutants," Alex explained casually.

He continued, citing Hong Kong as a feasible model. The island territory, covering 1,106.34 square kilometers, comfortably housed over seven million permanent residents, with room for millions more visitors. Skyscrapers pierced the sky, while bustling markets and serene parks coexisted in harmony. This size was well within Alex's capabilities, making it a viable option for mutant habitation.

Given Earth's current population of about six billion, the actual number of mutants remained relatively small, not exceeding tens of millions. This made the concept of a mutant island akin to Hong Kong both practical and promising. An island where mutants could thrive, build their own society, and live without fear or discrimination seemed within reach.

Jessica visibly relaxed at the prospect. The tension in her shoulders eased, and a hopeful smile spread across her face. "Even though most parts of the world are claimed, Earth is vast with plenty of unoccupied land and oceans. We can find unclaimed territories to settle peacefully, develop, and eventually establish a nation."

"Then, Teacher, if we have a country, does that mean we'll be princesses?" Anya eagerly inquired.

"Absolutely! You're already princesses," Alex affirmed with a smile.

His approach was straightforward; strength dictated everything.

Without power, one risked exploitation and annihilation, rendering discussions of a Mutant kingdom moot. Hence, Alex envisioned a monarchy akin to England's, leaving political matters to Charles and Eric, whom he trusted.

"Don't fret over life's necessities; Stark Industries will provide full support," Alex reassured them casually.

"Whether it's Tony or Howard, they'll back us fully. Our relationship runs deep despite not sharing blood. That's why I took over Stark Industries during Tony's youth," Alex added.

"Stark Industries has historically met basic needs. Short-term, we're covered. But what about the long haul?" Charles asked, his brow furrowed with worry.

"There's more oil beneath the seabed than we realize. Stark Industries will tap into those resources, set up factories, livestock farms, and agriculture. Mutants' abilities make these ventures feasible, and Stark won't suffer financially," Alex explained with a confident smile.

"These plans have been in the works for some time; there won't be any surprises. But it's still early days," he added.

"And what about our international standing? What if humans refuse to acknowledge us?" Charles pondered aloud, his concerns mounting.

"It's simple. Remember how Apocalypse handled it?" Alex grinned mischievously. "We declare ourselves a nation! With a bang—not fireworks, but nuclear bombs! Let the whole world see our explosive entrance."

"You mean..." Charles was taken aback by Alex's audacious proposal.

"Haha! Alex, you're brilliant. I love it. Let's show these humans that Mutants aren't to be trifled with. We're a force to reckon with!" Eric chimed in, clearly enthusiastic about Alex's plan.

The vision of a new beginning for mutants, free from persecution, filled the room with a sense of optimism. The idea of transforming an unclaimed piece of Earth into a vibrant, thriving community for mutants was no longer a distant dream but a tangible goal they could strive for together.
