Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Chapter 13 - Exercise and Summon

Early the next morning, Adrian got up and freshened up.

He didn't oversleep because he didn't have his phone to play with last night. Bored, he opened the magic circle and flipped through the three pages over and over dozens of times. As a result, he noticed that his energy had decreased by 1%, which made Adrian feel so distressed he could hardly breathe. He reluctantly went to sleep.

Early to bed, early to rise. After making the bed, Adrian poked Tom's nose bubble with his finger.

Snap! Tom woke up, his little head turning left and right until he saw the surroundings and Adrian's face, after which he let out a sigh of relief.

"Let's go, Tom. Time for morning exercises."

The Red Line, a continent towering ten thousand meters high, stood to the east of the Sabaody Islands. Even though the sunrise wasn't as early as on the Red Line, the bubbles that drifted near the tops of the Yaruki Crimson Trees were already twinkling with colorful light. Then they burst with a crackling sound.

Adrian might have taken a photo or video and shared it on his social media if he had seen such a view before his transmigration.

But now, only Tom had the mood to enjoy these sights. Adrian was focused on recharging.

Half an hour passed quickly. Adrian was satisfied with his energy progress. Today felt a bit easier than yesterday. He decided to go back and teach Bayer for a bit. It could be a form of relaxation. Then he planned to put in more effort and fully recharge his energy.

After having breakfast together, Mr. Goodman went to the shipyard, and Mrs. Molly said she was going to chat with their neighbor, Mrs. Nabal. They left Adrian and Bayer to study.

"Hey, Adrian, what are we learning today?" Bayer sat beside the study desk, sounding expectant.

The study desk and matching chair were specially made by Mr. Goodman for Bayer. He even made a blackboard and a pointer for Adrian.

Seems like shipbuilders are all good at handicrafts, huh?

Adrian waved the pointer a couple of times to get a feel for it and said to Bayer, "Let's start with learning how to write your name."

Bayer, bear, meaning a bear of a child...

He definitely couldn't say it like that. Adrian ended up praising Bayer's name and then taught him how to write it stroke by stroke.

He told Bayer to practice it several times to remember it well. Adrian picked up today's newspaper and began reading the news.

Dated May 10th, 1510 in the Sea Circle Calendar, the front page headline featured a Celestial Dragon wearing a square bubble headgear.

[World Noble Saint Jalmack, plans to visit the Goa Kingdom in the East Blue, Goa Kingdom celebrates!]

The Goa Kingdom in the East Blue, a familiar name. It seemed to be Garp's hometown. The three brothers of Luffy should be there now. Sabo would probably set sail around this time, and he'd just happen to encounter a Celestial Dragon's ship.

After that, Sabo was bombarded, severely injured, lost his memory, and was taken away by Dragon to join the Revolutionary Army...

These few days, there were quite a few "big events" happening—big events for Adrian, that is.

Actually, there was another event not covered in the newspaper, only circulating among certain people. That was, Germa had accepted a hire to attack a non-World Government affiliated country in the East Blue.

What these people still didn't know was that the third son of the Vinsmoke family, during the war, had escaped from Germa and entered the East Blue.

  "Adrian, I remembered!" Bayer shouted.

"Good, show me what you've written." Adrian looked at Bayer's crooked handwriting. "Very good. Next, I'll teach you how to write your mom and dad's names."

Before Adrian learned Pinyin and strokes as a child, he had already learned how to write his entire family's names. It was probably more interesting this way, remembering how to "draw" those characters.

So, he planned to have Bayer learn how to write a few names first, then teach him the basics of writing characters.

It seemed to be working well. Children always learned quickly when they were interested.

After finishing today's teaching goals, Adrian told Bayer a story from the latest newspaper issue. It was about the battle between the Sea Warrior Sora and the evil group Germa's superfighter Sparkling Red.

This issue mentioned Germa's technology and combat gear. Bayer seemed to be very interested.

Adrian was interested too. Combat gear and transformation. Others might treat it as a story, but Adrian knew it was all real.

Being cool was one aspect, but being strong was the main point. Just four or five people could hold back a bunch of combatants from Big Mom's Pirate Crew, giving the main character's crew a chance to escape.

Too bad those were all customized based on genes. Adrian could only wipe the drool from his mouth and start his own training.

Today, he summoned two interesting items:

[Sturdy Fish Tank: Originally a fish tank for goldfish, but a shark... head was squeezed into it.]

[Jerry Uncle's Guitar: A small and delicate guitar, but the strings often break—guess you know where I got the guitar strings from, right?]

Adrian didn't remember the fish tank very well, but the guitar... He took out the guitar. It was even smaller than his hand, and he plucked a couple of times. It sounded pretty good.

However, the moment Tom heard that sound, he covered his beard. He suddenly recalled an unpleasant memory.

Adrian chuckled as he put the guitar away. It really wasn't friendly to Tom.

For lunch, Adrian still ate a lot. After a short nap in the afternoon, he went for a run. Thankfully, the weather felt like spring, not too hot.

Though Adrian remembered the Grand Line's position. Based on what was shown in the anime, it should be on Earth's equator, which should be constantly hot. But common sense from before his transmigration seemed to hold no meaning in this world.

  Exercise, exercise.

Rest when tired, continue jogging when rested. Becoming stronger was a long-term goal, and the results weren't visible in a short time. But the energy numbers on his hand didn't lie, and the magical items he summoned were tangible.

Thinking about these things, Adrian was filled with motivation—though it might also be because he had nothing else to do.

Until the evening, Adrian finally gathered enough energy and received new items:

[Triangle Piano: The piano that Tom used in a concert, Tom's extraordinary skills won applause from the entire audience, even though a minor accident occurred during that performance.]

[Tom's Family's Big Fridge: Vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs, milk, all sorts of desserts, everything you could want.]

Two large items made Adrian a bit indecisive. Even if he wanted to take a look, it wasn't good to take them out casually outside, and it didn't seem right at Mr. Goodman's place either.

"It looks like I'll have to move out. After I get paid, I'll rent a place to live on my own. It's just too inconvenient to stay at someone else's house."

"Or maybe I could take some items outside to sell?" That needed careful consideration. Ordinary items wouldn't fetch a good price, and he worried about attracting attention with the magical items.

As for the piano, it should be quite valuable, but it was too big. He couldn't move it on his own and didn't want to reveal his inventory ability in front of others. It's better to wait.
