Chapter 3: acceptance, broken...

''Here you go,'' she handed me the mobile phone, and I excitedly completed the face registration process. I went straight to messages. The date was more important, but I didn't care about that. I thought it would be filled out or at least I would have one or two friends or family, but there was nothing; it was blank.

It looks like I am alone again, but how? How am I so unlucky? Can't I have happiness? Why is this world so cruel? As I said those words, tears uncontrollably streamed down my face. Huh? Am I crying? I was so broken in my past body that I couldn't even cry, but here I was, crying uncontrollably. Hnfm, haaaa. I took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but my tears didn't stop. Everything I had been holding back came out all at once. I was so jealous of others; they had family, they had someone to share love with, and here I was, all alone and broken, with no one to share these cursed feelings. after some minutes i tried to calm myself down by taking deep breths, this was my calming method in my past life.

Okay alex, I don't care. reality maybe is cruel but This is a new world with new possibilities. If I don't have anyone, I will find someone to talk to, to share my feelings with. There is no time for this childish crying. I wiped away my tears, got up, and headed straight home. ''Oh right, I forgot to check the date.'' I took out my mobile phone and pressed the start button. Hm, two more days... WHAT? Two more days??? I am literally in Palpea, how can I get to the Etherstar Academy in two days?. I was planning to rest, but this unexpected news gave me the motivation to go to that thing if i want to survive there i should at least get one artifact.

And that's how I found myself on a train, spending the last of my zeli to get there. Why didn't I go want to go there? Because there were cannibal village on the artifact I was looking for. Yeah, cannibals. I don't know how to avoid them, but I had no other choice. I can't miss this chance; Etherstar Academy will greatly help me increase my strength. I was only hoping for one thing, and that was to not end up in the same classroom as the protagonist and side characters.

Okay, back to the topic. There was a village, and in the middle of the village was the artifact I was looking for. There was only one thing in my favor, and that is that the cannibals were dumb. They were playing with kids' toys while we were already at 1500 elo in chess. That's how dumb they were. The train ticket cost two zeli; I had just eight zeli left. So with this, I would buy some clothes and charcoal to dress up like them.

''This is the stop for Abdullah City.'' Finally, my stop. I stepped off the train... ''Wow, once again, I was mesmerized by this beautiful world.'' Some passersby looked at me as if I were a tourist. Yeah, what would they think if they knew I was going to infiltrate the cannibal association? They would probably call the authorities to stop me. the cannibals village is in the foeest After gazing for a short while, I gathered my thoughts and went straight to the shop. I purchased the necessities I needed; damn, they were expensive though. I had only 5 zeli left at least it was enough to get back to my apartment. I headed straight east. After walking for about half an hour, I finally reached the jungle side. Before I entered the jungle, I stripped naked and smeared charcoal all over my body to darken my skin. Then I took some clothes, tore them, dirtied them, and dressed myself in them. The issue was that I hadn't described how the cannibals dressed. I only depicted their intelligence in my novel, and now it was coming back to haunt me.

I said a prayer to God, or perhaps to myself? I don't know; I simply prayed for some superior being and entered the forest. I was now dressed in a brown, dirty, ragged shirt and some dark, soiled, ragged pants. I threw dirt on my hair to mess it up. Ugfhmm, haaaaa. I took a deep breath again and ventured into the jungle. Fifteen minutes later... Ouch, ouch, aghhh! I was running for my life, and bees were chasing me. If you're wondering why, well, let's just say I accidentally knocked down their beehive. Yeah, it was preferable to being bitten by a snake, at least. Finally, I reached the trees. I was relieved at first, but then I realized how precarious my situation was. Would they truly accept me as one of their own if I was afraid of mere bees? Their kind could easily defeat anacondas, lions, and all sorts of monsters. They could withstand wasp stings like some sort of terminator or Superman. And you expect me to believe they'd consider me their own when I was fleeing from bees? No way.

Before entering the village, I took a couple of deep breaths and started walking to appear less hurried. As i reached a somewhat open area in the forest the bees fled, I finally caught sight of their village. It consisted of many small pitch huts. "Oh, fuck," I muttered as they spotted me. I realized I didn't know their language, and the thought crossed my mind that they might set me on fire.

I found myself in an incredibly dire situation. The only potential advantage I had was the notion that if I could convince them I was a divine apostle sent by some higher power, they might spare my life. However, I made a poor attempt at describing their language as "afghagumga namxha uhnahma." Please don't ask me; I was too exhausted to provide any meaningful details.

Initially, my idea was to scout the area, which seemed like a reasonable plan. However, those persistent bees prevented me from doing so. They spotted me and approached. Two people looked at me, as if I were prey or perhaps their friend. All I heard was "ihnva anhamba gumba."

The second person said "nono anyamba gumpa," and then they started fighting each other. Yeah, I was so dumbfounded. I wrote them, but they still left me baffled. A third person joined in, and he stopped their fight. He led me to a larger hut, where about twenty people stood by like guardians. In front of me was a fat figure seated. He said, "galumpa lumba," and then everyone started screaming. That was the first time I felt so utterly bewildered.

Before they could take me anywhere, I started screaming some nonsense. I didn't even know what I was saying, but the leader looked concerned. I grabbed a small rock and started drawing on the sand, something resembling a deity sending me. They started screaming again. "Haa, should I just scream, too?" I thought. "Yeah, I should. At least it would be better than being roasted." After my chaotic screams and unintelligible words, I realized that I should probably attempt to learn their language. I wasn't even an awakener yet, and learning their language would take time. And I didn't have enough time. "Agh, I don't know what to do," I sighed. Then it hit me: "Wait a minute, am I really not an awakener? How would I know that? I didn't even have an astral profile yet. But if I was an Etherlight student, then I would undoubtedly be an awakener. After all, I wasn't in this world when I awakened, so I have no idea what my power is. Just how dire is my situation?" Contemplating my own circumstances, I recalled something from my novel – when an awakener tried to use their power, they would feel a peculiar energy leaving their body. With newfound determination, I closed my eyes, extended my hand, and felt a warm sensation on my palm. Upon opening my eyes, I was met with the gazes of the cannibal villagers, looking at me as if I were a deity. Glancing at my palm, I observed a small warm light emanating from it. "W-what, am I really an awakener?" I wondered aloud. Their reaction was astonishing – they knelt before me in reverence. A sense of joy overwhelmed me; I couldn't even control the smile forming on my face. I felt a surge of happiness. Following this newfound respect, I engaged in prayers, and the villagers began treating me like a literal god. I rose from my spot and went straight to the middle place of village and started chanting outworldly words everyone was looking at me bewilderer ple.... ble.. ...th. ...wer " suddenly i surge of pain went through my mind as a mindbreaking sound wept through my minf arghhhh then i heard a soothing voice.. please tell me my child what do you desire.. "your loyal believer desires nothing but your presence as i said those worth suddenly unique looking necklace with black orb in the middle appeared into my hand yeah that was it if i said any other thing the 'god' would kill me no no no no he left before i could ask him if he knew if i could get back to my original world not like i wanted though just curious, at least i got the thing that i wanted and after that I left the village the cannibals didnt stop me after they heard my preaches. Mission accomplished, I thought to myself.
