"Hmm!" Travis did not mean to laugh, but he could not help it. "Ugh!" He tried to stop, but it just made it worse.

When she said that he needed to get checked by a doctor, he thought she meant because he was just recently involved in a traumatic incident.

Everybody assumed that he was hurt since he was involved in the shooting. Therefore, they insisted that he should have his body examined.

"What is so funny?" Thalia looked confused, but it soon changed into annoyance.

He could not blame her since the situation was serious and far from a laughing matter. However, he could not help it. 

Truthfully, he was glad because it alleviated the tension in his body brought about by recent events. It slightly released the stress that held his heart and lungs from functioning normally.

"Definitely, not you. You are too adorable to be funny." Again, his brain must not be working correctly, but so was his body as it seemed.
