He believed he had won this battle upon convincing her to stay and accompany him while he finished the cabinets.

"Aren't you going to watch me work?" Travis taunted her, wanting to get a bit of a reaction from her. 

It was getting boring when silence finally enveloped the room. The last man in the other room had just exited the door, leaving them alone in this empty restaurant.

He undoubtedly was not fond of silence. He remembered hating it when he was a child. He guessed he never outgrew it. 

"You are a grown man. I am sure you did not need supervision. Besides, I have better things to do than watch you." Thalia declined to even look in his direction.

But instead of feeling disappointed with her, he felt even more excited. The more she fought him, the more she presented a challenge he could not resist.
