"Nonsense?" His brother hysterically laughed as he faced him with contempt in his eyes. 

Truthfully, Damon had only seen him in this state when their father criticized him for not being good enough to be his son.

He could read different emotions swirling in his eyes, but the foremost was pain. His face might be enraged, but the hurt still emanated in him more than anything else.

"Yes, stop this childish nonsense, Dale." He stared at his younger brother as he tried to understand his situation.

He hated it when he sounded like his father when dealing with his younger brother. But sometimes, he wondered when his brother would ever grow up. 

All his life, Damon had protected him. He fought his battles for him, safeguarding him from the world because he was too naïve to face the truth.
