As Landon's words faded, a spirit beast couldn't contain its impatience any longer and lunged at them. As if on cue, other spirit beasts in the vicinity also charged towards them.

Mateo slashed his scarlet abyss blade at the spirit beast that rushed towards him, the fire element attached to the blade instantly devouring the creature instantly.

He leaped onto the back of a massive spirit beast and thrust the scarlet abyss blade into its back.

The combined effects of the bleeding caused by the scarlet abyss blade and the corrosive flames inflicted an excruciating pain, and making the spirit beast writhe and inadvertently crush many smaller companions, yet it also threw Mateo off.

He steadied himself, and quickly distanced himself from the spirit beast; under the combined effects of those two conditions, it would soon succumb, so he could use this time to deal with the spirit beast before it died.
