[I should first get to Ronik's house to retrieve the rest of my things… ]
Zaos glanced at the gangster at the side and said.
"Lock her up in the underground cellar and get someone to clean this mess," Zaos ordered.
"Yes, boss," the gangster quickly snapped out of their daze and carried out Zaos' orders.
Zaos got up from his chair and made his way to the dining room. Already stationed there was the green-haired maid from earlier. She smiled when she saw Zaos and asked him in an enchanting voice.
"Would you like me to serve you breakfast, my lord?" The wind elf maid inquired.
Zaos glanced at her coldly and said in a simple tone.
"Sure," he walked past her and took a seat.
The maid bowed and took her leave. Zaos snorted in annoyance after the maid left. He hated weakness and the maid's behavior of easily sucking up to him was something he disdained.
[No will or passion whatsoever, they only wish to leech off the strong. How disgusting…] Zaos frowned.
Zaos drummed his fingers on the wooden table.
[Well, she hasn't tried anything stupid. I can leave her alive for now… ] Zaos leaned against the chair.
A few minutes later, the green-haired maid returned with a plate of food in her hands. She set down the plate and took off the lid.
"My lord, your breakfast is served," the maid stood beside the table.
On the plate was a decent-sized piece of meat that resembled a medium-rare steak. After silently detoxicating the food, Zaos grabbed the cutlery from the side and used it to cut into the meat. He then ate the bite-sized cut of meat.
[*Sigh* It's so much better than the stuff I have been having till now…] Zaos savored the rich and meaty flavor of the meat.
"Good food," he couldn't help but praise.
"May I get you anything else, my lord?" The maid smiled and asked.
Zaos thought for a while before nodding.
"Get me a carvanet," Zaos ordered.
The maid bowed and took her leave.
In the meantime, Zaos enjoyed his meal. It had been so long since he had something as good as this. He wanted to savor it.
A few minutes later, the maid returned with a wine glass and an elegant wine bottle. She set down the glass and poured in the red wine.
After she was done, she placed the bottle on the table and took a step back.
Zaos once again silently detoxified the wine before taking a sip. He nodded in bliss as he cut a piece of meat and devoured it.
After a few minutes of eating, Zaos devoured the last piece of meat and sipped the last bit of wine in the glass.
[That was satisfying…] Zaos stood up and addressed the maid.
"I'll be heading out for a bit. If anyone comes to find me, have them wait till I return," Zaos instructed as he made his way out of the dining room.
"Yes, my lord," the maid bowed before taking care of the dishes Zaos left.
Zaos left the house and retraced his steps to the tunnel he came here from. On the way, he met a few guards who quickly greeted him after recognizing him.
A few minutes after going down the tunnel, Zaos arrived at the end. He pushed against the wall and the entrance to the hallway opened.
Zaos entered the hallway and closed the entrance behind him. He made his way to the metal door at the beginning of the hallway and pushed it open.
The earth elf was startled but when he remembered the information he had received the day prior, he swiftly greeted.
"Leader," he bowed to Zaos.
Zaos nodded and continued on his way. He went directly to the metal door entrance on the north he had used to enter the cave previously.
After passing that door and being greeted by the guard, Zaos made his way through the dark tunnel that led to the metal door he just passed.
[Oh! I also have to retrieve my outfit from the armorer… I forgot about that.] Zaos sighed as he quickened his pace.
Before long, he arrived at a flight of stairs leading to the small hut he had entered through. He swiftly climbed up the stairs, unlocked the trapdoor, and made it into the hut.
The familiar moldy smell of the hut assaulted his nostrils as he gazed around the hut. As his gaze trailed the hut, he spotted the individual he met on the first day.
"B-boss," the fire elf attendant greeted with a perplexed expression. He was the one who led Zaos into the market, who would have thought that the customer he brought to the market would become his leader the next day?
Zaos casually nodded as he made his way out of the building. He left the area and returned to Ronik's home.
It didn't take him long to navigate the disorderly streets and arrive before Ronik's home.
He went straight to his room, took packed his things before leaving the room.
[I reckon Ronik isn't home,] Zaos utilized his enhanced senses to scan the house. After finding no one around, he made his way to Ronik's shop in the general market.
The pathway was bustling as always. The bright street lanterns illuminated the many individuals present on the streets. However, the deeper Zaos went, the lesser the lanterns and people.
By the time Zaos arrived at his destination, the entire atmosphere of the market had changed. This part of the market only had a few depilated wooden shops and stores with very few customers around.
Among these stores was Ronik's similarly depilated wooden shop.
[Why doesn't he move to a better place?] Zaos wondered as he entered the shop.
Ronik was behind the counter with a stack of papers in his hands. As usual, the store was without any customers.
"Did you spend the night doing a mission?" Ronik shifted his attention to Zaos. He smiled as he asked the Zaos.
"You can say that," Zaos responded. He didn't elaborate further.
Ronik nodded and then asked.
"Are you moving?" He pointed at Zaos' sack.
"Yes, I found another place, thank you for your help," Zaos explained.
"Alright, live a good life, kid. Revenge isn't everything, you still have a future ahead of you." Ronik smiled as he spoke.
"I understand," Zaos acknowledged before leaving the shop.
