Chapter 70: The Cliffside Villa (1)

The night had slipped its dark blanket over the villa, cloaking everything in darkness. Up above, the sky was a canvas adorned with stars, each of them twinkling like tiny diamonds.

The only audible sounds daring to disrupt the silence were the rustling of leaves, swaying in response to the breeze. 

In addition to this, the air was alive with the background music of chirping crickets, their tiny voices blending into the surroundings like a melody.

While the servants were sound asleep in their quarters, it was the alert knights who were on duty, wide awake to stand guard as they kept watch through the late hours.

Talon settled into his post outside; the cool night air brushing against his skin as he peered at the dense forest beyond the fence. He had to keep this up for long hours, all as per Sir Daelan's strict instructions.
