CHAPTER 23: REVENUE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT (RAD)

"I'd like to register my business and was hoping to get some information on what I should bring to make that a success," Tapiwa didn't mince words and told the polite man exactly why she was there in the first place.

"Oh! That is fairly simple. And you are quite fortunate. I work in that department, and I'd be delighted to help," the man responded cheerfully.

Tapiwa smiled with relief when she said, "That's good then," because she didn't want to start getting to know someone else.

It was quite tough to find pleasant, easy-to-talk-to folks.

The man's name was George, and he worked in the department of business registration, as he had stated.

Tapiwa noticed a number of people on their approach to the building where he worked, both customers and employees.

At the same time, George introduced her to different departments as they passed, so that if she wanted to do something at RAD in the future, she wouldn't have to run around like a headless chicken.

After a bit of strolling, George opened a door to an office and allowed her in.

As soon as they entered the office, he remarked, "Please take a seat."

"Thank you," Tapiwa responded and walked towards the chair.

Tapiwa sat down and began to look about the workplace, deducing several things. The office was a one-man office, which was unusual, especially in government.

This just meant that George's standing in RAD was higher, which was really helpful for her right now because it meant she could obtain the aid she needed quickly. And because he was so courteous, she didn't have to be cheated or deceived to acquire what she desired.

"I will tell you everything you need to bring when you register your business. And if you have everything right now, I can assist you in speeding up the procedure. This way, you won't have to wait as long," George murmured softly to her.

"Sure, please go ahead."

"All right, so you'll need to bring your household register with your name on it and, at the very least, your residential address, which is where you currently live. We'll also need to know what kind of business you'll be running. This will be advantageous to you because it will determine the type of taxes you will pay in the future. You will not only be giving something away, but you will also be able to reclaim taxes from the RAD in the future provided certain requirements are met."

"These days, certain registered businesses, particularly those run by women, are eligible for low-interest loans from the bank of the kingdom of Shoyna. Women are encouraged to start their own businesses, so registering now is a sensible decision. You will not be sorry for your decision."

Tapiwa was attractive to George's eyes, and she was veiled in a mysterious veil that he wanted to peer through to see what she was hiding.

So, he found himself telling her some things those other pretentious women were unaware of.

Tapiwa was taken aback when she heard this. This came at the perfect time. How could she not be content?

"That's fantastic. I have everything you requested with me right now. Is it feasible to begin the process immediately? Also, how long does it typically take to obtain a business certificate?" Tapiwa inquired.

These questions couldn't help but make George laugh. However, he responded seriously, "It usually takes a week or more depending on the volume of work that we have. But, fortunately for you, there aren't many situations, and because you met me today, I can assist you in speeding up the procedure. So, you should have the certificate in three days."

Tapiwa breathed a sigh of relief when she heard that.

Even though this was her first time registering a business for herself, she was well aware of how exhausting the process was.

When her ex-husband applied for a business, it took over two weeks for him to acquire the certificate, despite the numerous connections he made thanks to her.

So, when Tapiwa learned that it would take at least three days, she felt as if she had been showered in a shower of good fortune, which was fantastic for her.

"That's a huge relief. I should thank you; otherwise, I don't know what I would have done without you," Tapiwa gladly thanked George; after all, if he hadn't wanted to help her, she would have gone through the same ordeal as everyone else.

"Haha, since we met, consider it fate. I'll give you a form to fill out. This will help us with the process," George said, smiling.

"Sure, I do appreciate it."

Soon after, George pulled a piece of paper and a quill pen from a wooden box and handed it to her.

Tapiwa took the items from George and proceeded to fill out the form seriously.

'She's literate, which is nice.' As he watched her fill out the paperwork, he mused.

The information required was considerably easier to obtain, and because she was literate and proficient in both reading and writing, this was a piece of cake.

She was glad to her parents for sending her to school because her life would have been incredibly difficult if she didn't know anything.

Tapiwa painstakingly filled out the form with her name, age, where she lives, marital status, business name, and type of business.

She didn't think twice about writing Women's Social Club as her business name. In terms of the type of business, this was actually quite straightforward, and wasn't she scared of having her ideas stolen by others by writing them down in this manner?

It didn't really matter. After all, if more people knew what she wanted to do, the lives of women would improve.

And it was all in George's eyes. He could tell by her demeanor that what she was doing at the time was something she was passionate about.

And he was curious as to what was making her so serious and diligent.

After completing out the form, she handed it to George, who looked over it with awe before taking a closer look at the home registration she had taken out.
