Chapter 10: CHAPTER 10: PREPARATIONS

There was so much work to be done before she could see her dream through.

Tapiwa didn't have much money to begin working towards her goal at the moment. Her meager savings were only about 20 bronze coins at the moment.

Copper, bronze, silver, and gold coins were used as currency on the Aqua blue planet, on the continent of Azeroth, and in the kingdom of Shoyna where she dwells.

One bronze coin was worth 1,000 copper coins. 1,000 bronze coins were worth one silver coin, while 1,000 silver coins were worth one gold coin.

The original currency was coins, but to avoid carrying too many coins and attracting unwanted attention, banks issued various monetary notes to remedy this problem.

A normal country and rural household of three to five persons may use 1 to 3 bronze coins in a year if they spend their money wisely.

Tapiwa, while having minimal resources after her divorce, was not a particularly frugal person, therefore her yearly spending on everything from food to quilts averaged around 5 bronze coins. That is unless she gets sick, and if she does, the money will almost certainly increase.

She bought the wasteland three years ago with practically all of her money.

Back in the city she lived in, whether before or after her marriage, that amount of money couldn't even buy a small shopfront. The best it could do was pay rent, but if it was for domestic reasons like clothes and food, the money was actually worth something.

What worried her at the time was that her 20 bronze coins wouldn't be enough to get her to the city, where she needed to register her business and buy a few supplies before she could officially start operating it.

She would need a lot of money in gold to realize her ambition, and she wasn't even close.

Rome was not built in a day, as she found out in one of her dreams. She would have to take one step at a time. And as long as she was diligent, she would get exactly where she wanted.

But, at the end of the day, everything will come back to the question of money, which would have bothered her before. But things were different now.

Tapiwa then began to organize her ideas on how she could get money quickly without causing too much trouble.

Although she was now awakened. She was still a peace-loving individual who didn't want to go around attracting controversy for no apparent reason.

Tapiwa's eyes sparkled with illumination when she remembered all the knowledge she memorized from all those dream realms.

With that in mind, she rapidly jotted everything down. Praying fervently that she hadn't forgotten anything, and that she hadn't messed anything up.

With that problem resolved, Tapiwa began to focus on other pressing matters, especially since she would be leaving her house for nearly a month if all went well.

Tapiwa's residence didn't have many things she needed to be concerned about, but she still needed to be cautious about robbers. Life was tough, and everyone was doing everything they could to stay alive and survive.

She didn't want what little she had to be gone by the time she returned.

So, she began carrying whatever she deemed necessary from the kitchen outside and storing it inside the store space.

She did the same thing with her other possessions inside her main building.

After that, she cooked many meals and kept them in the store space for later consumption during this extended duration where she will be out.

She wasn't going to spend a lot of money on meals until it was really essential, especially when she could just eat her own food.

Tapiwa went to bed that night with a grin on her face, her possessions packed and meals prepared.

The next day, she awoke quite early around two a.m., which was essential when one was required to get in town early and also desired to depart town on schedule.

Transport was always a concern, and because she didn't own an ox-cart or a horse carriage, she had to walk to town at least.

And if she's lucky, she might come upon an ox-cart heading to town and leap on to get there early.

However, because this was not an everyday occurrence, she needed to be prepared just in case.

Tapiwa had always disliked traveling to town because she had to walk for two hours just to get there, preferring to buy her food and supplies in bulk and all at once.

However, it seemed that she needed to make this trip this time, whether she liked it or not.

So, she awoke early in the morning, washed up in the bathroom of the store space, and changed into a one-piece dress.

In her civilization, they expected women to cover their bodies and skin at all times. So, even though things were changing due to the current queen, every lady wore these one-piece long gowns, similar to kaftans, with broad and long sleeves, matched with headscarves.

The purpose of the headscarf was to conceal the hair of married ladies from other males who were not their spouses. The conventions were a little harsh on women, but thankfully, all of these constraints were gradually easing.

Women could now freely stroll around with their hair uncovered, but it had to be decked with ornaments. So, if you couldn't afford jewelry, a headscarf was the only option.

Due to the great distance, she would be traveling, Tapiwa wore a brown and yellow kaftan and coupled it with one of her colorful beaded sandals, which were hidden by her long outfit.

It was approximately February, and there had been no more rain, and the weather had already begun to warm up. The consequences of a long-term drought many years ago.

She didn't need to wear a jacket or a jersey, so she put on a shawl that matched the headscarf she was wearing.

She couldn't afford to ornament herself in a lot of jewelry right now, so wrapping a scarf around her head was the best option.

Tapiwa was ready to go after dressing wonderfully, and deep down inside her heart, she couldn't help but pray for everything to go smoothly.
