Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Banking and a new roommate

Tiber woke early to the sun rising over the mountains. Getting dressed he made himself another meal of bread and jerky. He filled a water skin strapped it and the bag of jewels to his belt and set out for Hogsmeade.

After two hours of walking he was on the outskirts of the small town. "The three broomsticks should be able to get me to the floo network." He said to himself pulling a small ruby from the bag on his belt.

Making his way he saw the tavern had just opened. Approaching the counter the lady attending asked. "Can I help you young man?"

Mike asked. "May I have some floo powder and may I use your fire? I have important things to do in london."

As the lady frowned she saw him place a small ruby on the countertop for her alone to see. "I am in a hurry miss if you could be so kind."

She gave him a small pouch of floo powder and allowed him to use the fire.

Throwing the powder in he said "Leaky Cauldron." Vanishing into the fire in a flash of green.

As he appeared he nodded to the room that gave him a cursory glance. Maybe they thought he was a hogwarts student or something. He walked like he belonged their back to the entry to Diagon alley.

He came through as a kindly old witch opened the passage. "School shopping deary?" She asked.

"Ye ma'am that and I have some errands to run." He replied.

The lady nodded thinking that his parents had sent him to pick up a few things and would meet him here later.

Excusing himself he walked towards Gringotts. Making sure the pouch was hidden he entered the bank and approached a very bored looking goblin.

As the goblin looked at him it asked in a bored tone. "Whay is your buisness today?"

"I would like to conduct three pieces of buisness." Tiber said. "First I would like to convert these to money."

He handed the goblin the pouch filled with gems. "There are sixty diamonds, seventy rubies, 150 emeralds, and 200 sapphires."

The goblin was stunned at the amount, and quickly became more polite. After careful examination he said "this can be converted to One hundred thousand gallons."

Mike nodded the price was what he was expecting. "I need to open an account. I would like to deposit the funds and keep fifty galleons out in a mixture of galleons sickles and knuts."

The goblin nodded.

"I would also like the bank to help me obtain a house elf." Mike continued "please have them meet me at the Leaky Cauldron in four hours." The goblin made a note.

"Anything else sir?" The goblin asked. After all at gringotts money reigned supreme and the young wizard had proven that he had alot of money.

"Not at this time thank you." Tiber responded respectfully. A few minutes later he left with a pouch full of money hidden under his shirt.

Walking out he approached a shop that sold enchanted items. He bought a trunk with the same enchantment as the one alastor moody was trapped in during the events of goblet of fire. He had that delivered to the Leaky Cauldron.

He then bought a bag that had roughly five square meters of space and the items weighed nothing. Walking around he entered the potion shop buying a small set of potion ingredients. He bought a cauldron. From the pet store he bought an owl. He then got several armloads of books from the bookstore to supplement his library.

Making his way to the Leaky Cauldron he found himself fave to fave with a house elf named Jacky.

"Jacky is happy to meet the young master. Jacky will work hard to help." The young elf said.

"Jacky, call me Tiber, please let me know if there is anything you may need when we get home ok." Tiber said back.

She seemed happy to help and Tiber asked her to help carry the trunk. Going back 5o the Leaky Cauldron with floo powder. They left hogsmead and made their way back to Skyhold.

"Masters hole is huge Jacky will be honored to help master." She said excitedly as she saw the house.

"Jacky call me Tiber ok." Tiber gently corrected her.

As she began to try to punish herslef Tiber stopped her. "Jacky it's OK, I would just prefer for you to call me Tiber."

Looking at the potato sack she was wearing Tiber asked. "Houselves don't wear clothes right?

"No master it is a great dishonor for house elfs to wear cloths." She said adamantly. "It means that our master is displeased with us if they give us cloths."

"What if you make the clothes yourself?" Tiber asked.

"Not for Jacky only for Master Tiber." She answered.

Tiber sighed and rubbed his face. "Go to the treasury and make yourself a covering you are comfortable with using the fabric." He figured phrasing it like this would be the best way to get her into better garments. "You are a reflection of me and will be treated with the same respect that I expect to be treated with."

"But Jacky..." She began.

"No Jacky," Tiber interrupted her. "You want to reflect well on me right?"

She nodded.

"Then what better way for you to reflect good of me than if you yourself are in fine cloth." He reasoned.

She became excited before scurrying off.

Tiber looked on in amazement. "I didn't even tell her where it was."
