Chapter 40: Bloodlust

Lex lay on the sleeping bag for a little while as he looked at the dilapidated ceiling. The paint had crumbled away years ago.

He winced as he felt pain shoot out from his arm. Midnight woke up and noticed, so she stood up.

She stretched her small body before walking over to him and started nudging him with her head before licking his face.

As Lex sensed this, a smile curled on his lips. He turned his head to the left, where the shadow wall cast by Midnight revealed that it was morning.

He sat up and checked on his arm, which was still missing but had grown back an inch. Lex wondered what he needed to do to speed it up but couldn't think of anything.

After thinking briefly, he looked around the room and spotted Silika still sleeping as she was curled up in her bag.

Once he sat up, he put Midnight in his armor before standing up and stretching. The little black cat meowed as she curled up.
