Write a reviewthe characters are so superficial and emotionless. cliches are a guaranteed in a novel like this but when executed poorly it just makes it even worse
Reveal SpoilerI saw this on the 15minread free pass special and thought since I enjoy urban style books I would give it a go, however after 12 odd chapters I could take it no more. It’s the standard poor orphan child is cheated on by his girlfriend with a wealthy guy, easily taken advantage of, becomes a scape goat and suddenly rescues a rich person and becomes his heir as the guy dies from his injuries, oh and coincidently the rich guy has been sponsoring the poor orphan with education etc. basically all the bad things you can think of to have done to a character, except having the dreaded deathly no name disease with zero chance of survival. This novel is so stilted in writing, that it feels like I am reading a shopping list, it’s empty , bland and uninspiring. The general feel is just monotonous and if it was audible, probably sound flat. Anyways, who knows it could suddenly get better but as a book needs to gather interest in the first ten or so chapters, I just wasn’t able to confidently waste any more time continuing with it.
