Chapter 2: Chapter two: A day.

Cough! Cough!

Before speaking, the secretary cleared his throat.

"She goes by the name of Hu Nathalia; she's 21 years old and also holds the position of CEO in the Hu beautification industry."

"That's sufficient."

The boss commanded him to cease.

For someone like Li Senpai, this information was enough to devastate her life.

"Summon Nick."

The words were icy enough to freeze an entire continent.

He promptly obeyed his boss's order and held the phone near his ear, making sure not to touch it.

"Hello Boss," the other party greeted.

"Hu Nathalia, twenty-one years old." Those words provided enough context for him to understand what his boss wanted him to do. "Yes boss," he responded.

The secretary, Liang Chen, felt sorry for the lady who was only trying to retrieve her bag.

Miss Hu Nathalia once again exited the beauty salon.

The employees had assisted her in fixing her skirt, and everyone joined hands to pray that she wouldn't find herself in such a predicament again—it was the least they could do to support their boss.

She was stunning, with her long, curly, jet-black hair, snow-white complexion, and dazzling ocean blue eyes—a perfect and beautiful contrast.

With her red tuxedo and black heels, she resembled a model.

Miss Hu confidently made her way to her car, but before she could proceed, a large truck collided with it, smashing it into a nearby pillar.

"Could this day get any worse!"

She had an important meeting that could determine the fate of her company.

Nathalia had to write numerous proposals, all of which had been rejected multiple times—she couldn't afford to miss this opportunity.

Disregarding the state of her car, she hailed a taxi and gave the driver instructions.

"Take me to Li industry, please."

Although her documents had been destroyed, she had enough confidence to deliver her presentation verbally.

At 1 pm, a girl in a red tuxedo stepped out of a taxi.

"Baby girl, why are you so late?" "I'm sorry, Min. You can't even imagine the obstacles I had to overcome to get here."

She apologized, holding her ears like a young child.

Lu Min was her assistant and friend.

"We'll discuss all those hurdles after the meeting. Let's hurry inside, baby girl."

Tap... Tap... Tap...

She entered the main building of Li electronics, causing everyone to stare in amazement.

Nathalia was astonishingly beautiful, but that wasn't the issue.

The buzz that quickly began circulating was due to her choice of attire—she was dressed in red.

Red! Red!

Their boss detested the color red immensely; no one in the company was allowed to wear it, not even their lips could be painted yellow or orange.

Yet, this woman displayed boldness by showing up in an almost entirely red outfit.

On the other side, Lu Min was dressed in black trousers and a green shirt. If he hadn't been near the beauty, he could have gone unnoticed.

Hu Nathalia stopped in front of the reception desk to gather some information about the meeting.

"Excuse me, sir, could you please tell me where the conference room is? I am the CEO of Hu Beautification Industry."

"Just wait a few seconds, please," he replied, typing some characters on his computer before turning back to them. "The meeting is on the tenth floor, first door on the left."

The receptionist glanced at the lady, feeling a sense of pity as she realized that she would not be able to even speak.

"Miss Hu, I would suggest changing your clothes," the receptionist advised.

Nathalia didn't find anything wrong with her outfit. "What's wrong with this one?" she asked.

"Nothing, miss. But you don't want to be late, so hurry up." This company had a reputation for not tolerating even a minute of lateness, and Nathalia was already five minutes behind schedule. Whether she changed her outfit or not, the result would be the same.

She entered the elevator with a worried look on her face. Did she overdo it with her choice of clothing?

"Don't worry, you look amazing. They're just jealous of your appearance," said Lu Min, whose hair was black.

Through his brown eyes, Nathalia could see the unwavering faith Lu Min had in her.

The elevator reached its destination and signaled with a beep.

The doors opened, revealing a completely different world. Everything here was painted white.

Several men dressed in black were guiding people at the entrance.

It's an electronics industry, so I might be able to get them to help fix my broken phone.

As she was about to enter the conference room, a guard stopped her by grabbing her wrist.

"Could you both please identify yourselves?" the guard inquired. It was part of his job.

Assistant Lu Min felt the urge to punch them solidly. "We're already more than five minutes late, why are they doing this?"

"I am Hu Nathalia, and this is my assistant, Lu Min," she replied.

The Hu family had some degree of popularity in Jiang City, which made it easy for Liang Chen to obtain her information.

_Nathalia, you can do this. I will secure the contract for my family'_

She encouraged herself.

Finally, she made it inside, allowing a faint smile to curl up her lips, leaving some company investors and business partners mesmerized. With that smile, she could drive any man crazy.

If Lu Min were straight, he could fall for his boss.

"Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay," Miss Hu said, bowing her head.

Everyone fell silent, awaiting the boss's response.

Sitting on a black office chair, his back turned towards her, the boss remained quiet.

His silvery white hair and left hand were the only things she could discern in her line of sight.

Could it be that insolent man from earlier today?

This reminded her of the conceited affluent man she had encountered that morning, but she swiftly expelled that notion from her mind. In the end, there were surely other men in the world possessing silvery white hair.

To everyone's astonishment, he rose from his seat and pivoted, directing his gaze towards the young lady while adorning a chilly smile.

_It's truly him!_ What is his purpose for being here?

"Miss Hu, I must admit that your proposition is quite alluring. Let us discuss this matter further in my office," he smoothly departed from the conference chamber, emanating an air of haughty regality.

Secretary Liang Chen trailed behind him like a poppy following its mother, fearful of exceeding his pace.
