Lynn needed to find a way to become stronger, and fast.
"What to do..."
Lynn began to ponder. His mind was consumed by thoughts and questions. He knew that he needed to act quickly if he wanted to survive the dangers that surrounded him, but he wasn't sure where to begin.
"Yes, the panel!
Lynn hastily called up his personal information panel.
His previous exploration of the panel was abruptly interrupted by the appearance of the zombie, which forced him to abandon his search.
Now, With the threat of the zombie gone, Lynn focused his attention on the blue panel to try and understand what had happened to him, and what changed after he redeemed the reward for completing the [First Encounter] side mission.
[Player: Temporary Number F0001]
Class: [Doctor lv1] (20%)
Talent: [Gemini Soul]
Attributes:
[Strength 4] [Dexterity 7] [ Constitution 6] [ Intelligence 5] [Perception 7]
Class Skills: [Cell Proliferation]
General Skills: [Evaluation lv1]
Equipment: none
Lynn's eyes scanned the contents of the blue panel and noticed that his experience level showed 20% progress towards reaching level 2, up from 0% previously.
And a new skill called [Evaluation] has also been added to the list of general skills.
Furthermore, Lynn was surprised to see that his perception increased, to 7 when it had previously been 6. He wondered what had caused these changes.
Looking over at the [Information Reminder] section, after spending a few minutes carefully examining this section, Lynn finally understood.
The first thing that caught his attention was the origin of the 20% experience.
The 20% experience and the new Evaluation skill are the rewards for completing the [First Encounter] mission.
As for his increased perception, it seemed that was a result of learning the evaluation skills.
Lynn realized that one way to increase his attributes was by learning and mastering new skills, and the experience from completing missions would allow him to level up his class.
Back to the personal information panel, Lynn tried clicking on the text with his mind, hoping it would provide more details. To Lynn's satisfaction, this worked - mousing over with his thoughts brought up extra information.
When he clicked on the attributes list, it displayed an explanation of what each stat meant:
Strength - determines physical power and damage output.
Dexterity - affects speed, agility, and accuracy.
Constitution - determines healing speed, endurance, and resistance to damage.
Intelligence - represents comprehension capacity and spiritual power.
Perception - affects the detection ability and reaction to threats.
After seeing the explanations for each attribute, Lynn pondered which he should focus on to survive in this nightmarish hospital.
" Strength and dexterity are the key for close combat." Lynn thought. "And the constitution is vital for surviving, but perception could give me an early warning of dangers."
Next, Lynn clicked on the class skill [Cell Proliferation] to learn more about this ability. It seems that class skills are exclusive to the class and do not have a level. Their power is improved as they gain levels in that specific class.
[Cell Proliferation: the ability to stimulate cellular growth and division, rapidly healing wounds and regenerating damaged tissue. This skill consumes energy proportional to the degree of cell manipulation required.]
A small smile formed on Lynn's lips. "Cell Proliferation...how fitting," he murmured. The ability to manipulate cells seemed tailored for a doctor.
Lynn focused his mind, trying to gain a better understanding of this newfound skill. According to the information, he could consume his energy to activate [Cell Proliferation] and manipulate cellular growth and division.
He could potentially accelerate the healing of his wounds by stimulating cellular regeneration, and maybe even use it for attacks.
"Energy..." Lynn began to ponder. "Maybe the spirit energy mentioned in the information of the intelligence stat."
The other skill is [Evaluation], it's a general skill, which means a skill that is not specific to a particular class and can be learned and used by people regardless of their abilities.
[Evaluation lv1: Ability to gather basic information about objects at a glance.]
Lynn realized that the evaluation skill allowed him to quickly gather useful information which could mean the difference between life and death in this dangerous environment.
He decided to test his new skill, focusing his mind on the fire axe still in his hands. Instantly, some basic facts appeared in his mind:
[Fire Axe]
[Evaluation: This is an ordinary fire axe without any particular abilities or special features.]
Lynn felt a twinge of disappointment by the ordinary nature of the [Fire Axe], but he wasn't expecting anything more.
One last thing remained, testing his talent [Gemini Soul].
He focused his mind on the talent, trying to remember the feeling when he awakened the talent. Suddenly, the world around him seemed to shift and blur, and he felt a strange sensation of duality within himself.
As he opened his eyes, a silhouette that was both very familiar and unfamiliar to Lynn floated in the air.
It was a man in his mid-twenties, dressed in a white shirt and loose jeans, with slight bags under his eyes due to lack of sleep.
At that moment, the translucent man lowered his eyes and fixed them on Lynn, his eyes as empty as those of a robot.
"It's… me?" Lynn said, sensing the connection between him and the shadow.
The fact that Lynn was reincarnated in this world, and awakened the memories of his previous life is already miraculous. But he didn't expect to also bring his soul from his previous life.
Lynn closed his eyes and felt the connection between him and the translucent shadow, and his consciousness moved toward the soul of his previous life.
He floated in the air, looking at the whole world as if a creature located at a high dimension was looking at a lower dimension.
Lynn looked towards his body.
It had not fallen due to the conscious transfer, but he stared at it fixedly, his eyes as calm as possible, and his body continued to act according to his conscious thoughts.
Lynn, who should have been surprised, did not know why his mood did not change.
It would be better to say that all his feelings and emotions disappeared.
At this rate, he would become a robot without any feelings.
"It seems that I cannot stay in the state for too long."
In a flash, Lynn's consciousness returned to his body.
He gazed deeply at the soul of his previous life, which was still floating in the air.
"To be able to observe the world from a high-dimensional perspective..."
"What a wonderful experience. I wonder what advantages it can bring?"
