Chapter 36: Here We Are, Kill Me

"Queen of the Night, I apologize for lying to you, but I need my money," a voice boomed from the speaker of the phone. Stan and I exchanged glances.

"Do you recognize the voice?" Stan asked, pausing the voice recording as he looked into my eyes. Not only did his voice sound familiar, but his face also resembled someone I had met in the past.

"Yes," I responded with a simple nod.

"Who?"

"My father, Alpha Benjamin," I murmured. Stan hit the play icon again, relaxed into his chair, and the recording began to play once more.

"I paid you to eliminate that cursed human, and you told me you had done so, but instead, you hid her away from all of us! Benjamin, you looked me in the face and lied to me?! Benjamin, have you forgotten who I am?" the female voice, whom I presumed was the Queen of the Night, said.
