Chapter 33: Enemy Within

The Sunday morning in Golden Gate Pack was quite frigid, the kind of morning that made you stay in bed under a cozy pile of blankets. Jordan and I had gone to bed very late the night before, and I was feeling incredibly tired.

As I slowly opened my eyes, I saw Jordan peacefully sleeping beside me. The face towel he had used after hitting the gym at 5 a.m. was still hanging around his neck.

The way he was lying on the bed indicated that he had intended to take a shower but had suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed onto the bed to rest for a little while. He looked so handsome in his slumber. Quietly, I rolled out of bed and made my way to the bathroom to freshen up and prepare breakfast for everyone.

I felt a sense of purpose as I walked towards the bathroom. The events of the previous night had washed away all my fears and ignited a newfound determination within me. I now felt ready to face Alpha Alex and Russell Morgan.
