Chapter 48: CHAPTER - XLIII

A huge explosion covered the area where Derek and Abomination had collided, Derek could be seen at a distance of ten meters coughing blood with all his bones broken
Derek : "Shit I almost missed it, system use Status Recovery" commented Derek.
TING
System : [ I'm sorry host but you are out of Status Recoveries. ]
Derek : "Damn that idiot made me spend all my status recoveries, looks like I got lucky winning that Grimoire of White Magic"
He started to use heal on the more serious wounds starting to regain health and some mobility in his body, suddenly the ground started to shake getting stronger by the second until suddenly a giant silhouette came out from where Abomination had been buried.
"Damn... I'll kill you" shouted Emil with his whole body bloody, looking for any trace of Derek
Derek meanwhile used stealth gaining more time to recover from the damage he had, what he didn't expect was that the place where they fell was near the Quinjet.
Noticing this Abomination headed to that direction, with no other option Derek deactivated stealth and got up with effort, creating a sphere of fire throwing it at Emil managing to gain his attention.
"I knew you'd come out if it threatened what you've been so painstakingly protecting" Emil mocked Derek
He just looked at him wearily, noticing that his wounds were healing much slower than before plus his body was a little smaller than it had been at the beginning, something Emil hadn't noticed, Derek smiled at this.
"Yes, then I hope you can keep smiling at this" said Derek
Abomination no longer paid attention and ran towards him but had to stop mid run as his body started to change and experience a pain he had not experienced before as if something important was being ripped out of him.
He looked towards Derek who moved his hands as if pulling something with a lot of effort, from Emil's wounds small metallic green granites started to come out and gather in Derek's hands.
Derek : "You wouldn't have believed that all this time I was attacking you without having a plan in mind" seeing the surprise in Emil's eyes Derek's smile widened with force, as more metal grains came out of Abomination's body.
His body shrunk more except for his bony protuberances that didn't change, his muscle mass disappeared faster every second stopping when in Derek's hands a metal sphere was formed which radiated green energy.
Putting it in his inventory Derek looked at Emil who was writhing in pain because of the changes his body was suffering
Derek : "The metal I created, the one I attacked you with has the property of storing and absorbing energy and what runs through your body and veins is Gamma Energy, I had to risk it, I didn't know if it would work, but I did it" explained Derek putting the Gamma energy sphere away.
At the end Abominations was on his knees when his changes ended, making him look uglier than he already was (just imagine the version of Immortal Hulk when they absorbed his Gamma energy, but with Abomination).
Emil got up with effort and looked with total hatred at Derek who no longer moved trying to recover energy and ran towards him.
Derek knew he was screwed even so he tried to attack with his fist but Emil grabbed him with his other arm lifting him up and headbutting him making him spit blood, then grabbed his head and slammed him to the ground, without letting go he ran towards the wall of the base hitting and dragging Derek's face in anger all over the wall then to the ground.
Letting go as he threw him a few feet away jumping up to lunge with his fist, despite having lost more than half of his strength he shook the ground as his blow sank Derek to the cold ground without letting go of his fist.
Derek used indestructible as he could with his torn muscles in search of protection but the damage he received was still disastrous even though Emil had lost much of his strength
Abomination grabbed him by the leg as if he were a straw doll, turned and threw him against the wall, creating a dent stamping him there.
He ran back clenching his fist and hit Derek's face leaving him on the verge of unconsciousness, but when he was about to finish him off a giant fist lifted him up and another buried him in the ground.
Those were Kamala and Cassie, Dante appeared in the air imitating Derek's flying form and attacking in the same way as him with a breath of fire, it was the last thing Derek saw before being unconscious.
Meanwhile in Derek's mind, he appeared lying on the floor of a large white room
??: "Is that all you can do" asked a voice much like his own, opening his eyes he was surprised to see who it was, since the person he saw was him, he didn't know who it was.
"Hello Derek" he replied to the owner of the body he had taken, he just looked at him for a few seconds
"You know I expected more from the person who said he would live for me without regrets, but it seems that was not true" he commented.
"I gave everything I had, threw him from the stratosphere and he still got up, the only thing I managed to do was to weaken him".
"And yet Natasha ended up wounded, she is debating between life and death" he said, forming an image of Nat barely alive thanks to Lucy who had stopped the bleeding but still in danger of losing her life
"Our friends are buying us time Derek look for yourself" this time he changed to a new scenario where Kamala and Cassie were in their giant forms, along with Dante shooting fire spheres without doing any harm to Abomination.
Except making him angrier than he already was, Emil jumped at that moment grabbing Cassie's knee hitting her making her scream and fall to her knees.
Abomination took advantage by climbing to her shoulder attacking her face making her fall, jumping again when Cassie fell back to the ground still in her giant form aiming at her heart
But a portal got in his way when he was about to hit, his fist went through the portal opening another one next to his face making him hit himself, courtesy of Theo.
Kamala attacked the disoriented Abomination, while Yelena took advantage of all this to pull the unconscious and badly wounded Derek out of there, seeing what the original Derek was showing him he got up and confronted him "I have to help them"
The other Derek smiled
"I see you already recovered a little conviction, but tell me why I should let you go, why shouldn't I go, I would recover everything you took from me even our friends" he said it with mockery making him frown.
But a question came to his mind, why doesn't he do it then, maybe he doesn't have the power to do it and he is just bluffing, until he understood, he himself has been sending him hints, he could only deny before this and smile "That God sure likes to complicate things, doesn't he? " he smiled and questioned.
"Yes indeed it can get annoying" said the original Derek, seeing how the doubts in his eyes were no longer there and he extended his hand
"After all you are me not Derek" the former smiled taking his hand and smiling
"And you are yourself, don't doubt again" he said the last thing becoming particles of light entering Derek's body, who closed his eyes processing all the memories of his former self completely, he felt free, his thoughts were clearer now as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
God : "AAAH I was expecting something more cliché, an epic fight to at the end but now I realized that he was you and you were him"
Derek opened his eyes recognizing the voice, only to see the God who sent him to this World, "You.... " but he could not continue as the God interrupted him
God : "Well before you claim me, I will have to interrupt you as the me you see is only a hologram that I saved in the system for when you passed your first test, so congratulations for accepting you as Derek and owner of your now body, therefore you have unlocked and upgraded to the system now you will receive the key to get your first job, plus you have now unlocked the dungeons" said the figure of the old man known as God becoming transparent the more he spoke
"See you next time kid, enjoy your second chance to the fullest" the old man disappeared, at that very moment, Derek opened his eyes still being carried by Yelena.
"Put me down" he said to Yelena, who was surprised to hear the boy she thought he was unconscious talking to her, hesitating to do so but he spoke to her again
Derek : "Please put me down I have a way to help them", although she wanted to refuse she carefully lowered Derek from his back laying him on the floor and saw him take out a greenish metallic sphere which was releasing energy at times.
Derek looked at the sphere that had been formed by absorbing the Gamma Energy in Abomination's body, already with a plan in mind that could work but it was very risky thanks to his condition and as if to affirm it the system spoke to him.

System: [ Host I would not recommend it, your body is already very wounded and weak plus your Immunity to poisons will counteract your total absorption of Gamma Energy.
Derek : "But it's enough to evolve a skill and make me enter Dragon Force right?"
System: [Yes, along with other benefits but it will still be very risky.]
Derek looked at Yelena
Derek : "I recommend you to stay away from me, because I won't have control over my powers for a while" he said to Yelena who didn't understand at that moment.
The next second she saw how the boy opened his mouth and ate the green sphere, and then the boy's muscles swelled and twisted as if he had worms or ants inside.
For Derek who was prepared for the pain that would come he did not imagine that he would suffer such unimaginable pain, it was even short to say that it hurt, he wanted to scream but could not, he kept his consciousness looking at the bar of his two Dragon Slayer skills that in this battle had reached 99% only 1% of leveling up, while Superhuman Strength had reached the maximum level, it was glowing green.

After receiving those notifications his body felt like it was going to explode from the excess of Energy, trying to counteract this Poison Immunity went into action eliminating part of the poisonous Gamma Energy, but it still wasn't enough, rolling on the ground in pain trying not to explode, until flames and metal moved through his body.
Dropping to his knees "Ahhh...Roarr.... " he roared loudly and angrily, the area around his body heated up, burning flames were spreading melting the ground.
With no other choice Yelena walked away still surprised by all these changes, mainly Derek's, his right side started to form red scale patterns with metallic grays, from his back came out a Dragon tail, a metal wing is formed from the right side of his back, his hand had become a Dragon's with claws and scales reaching up to his face with his senses amplified.
