Gazing into those icy, alienated eyes, Alla's heart began to pound uncontrollably. She instinctively averted her gaze, only to notice his hand clutching her waist. It seemed he had lifted her from the sofa by her waist just moments ago. She was now half-leaning on the sofa, with him looming over her. Although their bodies didn't touch, the posture was somewhat intimate.

She extended her tender hand, intending to push him away, but upon touching his shirt sleeve, she was met with a cold rebuke. "Don't touch me!" Alla, startled, froze and dared not advance further.
