Chapter 31: The Fake Contract

A group of bodyguards, dressed in black, entered from the entrance. Billie strolled in, his hands tucked into his suit pockets. The crowd of guests fell silent at the sight of them. Maggie and Vincent stood frozen in place, taken aback.

Alla went white at the sight of Billie. She had hoped he wouldn't come, yet here he was, disrupting the wedding. Fearing he would ruin the ceremony, she quickly rose from her seat and approached him.

"Mr. Roman," Alla said hurriedly, blocking his path to the stage, "the contract has been signed. I'll give it to you tonight."

Billie looked her up and down, his eyes burning with desire at the sight of her in her sexy champagne-colored bridesmaid dress. He wrapped an arm around Alla's waist, pulling her close, his hand roaming as he spoke, "If the contract is already signed, why not give it to me now?"

"I need to ensure the wedding goes smoothly, Mr. Roman," Alla replied, trying to keep her composure despite the revulsion she felt. "What if you renege on your word after getting the contract and disrupt my friend's wedding?"

"You don't trust me?"

"That's correct," Alla replied calmly. "Mr. Roman, if you want the contract, wait until tonight."

Despite the soft makeup she wore, her expression was firm, leaving no room for negotiation. "How do I know you're not deceiving me?" Billie chuckled.

Alla took out her phone, opened a file, and showed him a fake contract she had prepared earlier. "Mr. Roman, look carefully. This contract is issued by Davies Corporation, it's signed, it can't be faked."

She worked in the president's office, primarily responsible for receiving partners and managing their contract files. Davies Corporation was Reed Corporation's biggest partner, so naturally, she knew what their contracts looked like. She had drafted a contract based on other Davies Corporation bidding contracts, and had someone forge a signature.

The signed contract was converted into a PDF, indistinguishable from the real thing. She showed him each page deliberately, making him believe her somewhat.

"Remember to bring the contract to my villa tonight," he said, his mind already wandering to the pleasures he would enjoy with Alla once he had the contract at hand.

Feeling his hand leave her waist, Alla let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Her palms were clammy with sweat. "Mr. Roman," she said through gritted teeth, "I've arranged the location. I'll send it to you later."

Under no circumstances would she go to his villa. Once she entered his territory, there would be no escaping. But now that she held the fake contract, he would have to follow her arrangements if he wanted it.

"What are you playing at?" Billie frowned, hearing her words.

"I'm not playing at anything. I just don't want to sleep with you. I have to ensure my safety," Alla replied, her words causing Billie to bristle slightly.

His face turned a shade darker, but he soon realized that regardless of where she set the location, he could make her submit. With this in mind, he didn't question the location further.

He glanced at the couple approaching them and warned Alla with a smile, "Make sure to bring it, or my friends here might not play nice."

With that, he lightly tapped Alla's nose, a gesture that might have been interpreted as affectionate if not for the dangerous glint in his eyes. Alla's heart pounded with revulsion, but she managed to nod obediently.

"Rest assured, Mr. Roman."

Satisfied with her assurance, Billie finally left with his men.
