Chapter 11: Who are you?
When Jade opened her eyes, she turned to the other side of the bed only to find that he was not there. Due to the cold weather the previous night, Jade had sneaked into the bed but now she was wondering how she could face him. Not knowing what to do, she went to the bathroom where she found a small.bathtub which was filled with water. "Just what I needed." She said with a sigh and slowly started to undress where she immersed herself in the cold water that made her
breathless.
In her whole life, not once had she ever dreamt or thought that such a day would come where she could stay with a demon in the same room, and as she continued to take a slow bath, her thoughts were a mess. She used to have a very happy life with Lydia, Mrs Lowrence and Joseph. The thought of Joseph reminded her of his confession, maybe if she could have told him that she also loved him, this obsessed man wouldn't be after her.

"Has the council been informed about the chief's death?" Alvin asked a man who seemed to be in his forties. "Yes milord. They have appointed one of the councilmen to be an acting chief before they find a suitable person who would take up the position." The man replied dutifully. "I need you to find all those who worked with the dead chief. I think that my dear cousin and his brainless mother know something about this." The king said. He knew very well that Elisa would do everything in her power to dethrone him, after all her son was the crown prince and everyone in the kingdom thought that he would become the future king but he appeared in the picture and took the power into his own hands.
"I will do that milord." The man answered whereby the king nodded and left. As Alvin continued to walk, he could see how women kept on staring at him while others gave him a lustful look but he didn't bother to give them the attention that they were looking for.
It didn't take him long to reach to the hotel where he found jade going through her
belongings looking for something. "Are you looking for this?"He asked and Jade abruptly turned around. He was holding the pendant that she had been looking for. "Yes! now give it back." Jade demanded. "Where did you get this jade?" Alvin asked as he continued to look at the blue waterdrop shaped stone. He had seen a similar pendant but no matter how he tried to remember who he had seen it with, he couldn't. "My father was the one who gave it to me. Now bring it back." Alvin handed it to her without any urgument, he could tell that it was something special to her with the way she was relieved after seeing it.
"When will I go home?" Jade asked in hopes that the man would let her go. "We are going home right now my darling. If we were not in a hurry, we could have used that carriage but I left some unsettled matters that need to be attended to." Without waiting for her to say anything, Alvin took her luggage and held her wrist. "Now close your eyes my dear.'' He said and since jade knew what would happen, she tightly closed her eyes. All she could feel was a strong wind that made her dizzy.
Within a span of time, they stood at the edge of a large forest where she could see a man walking towards them with a horse. Though Jade had a lot of questions in her mind, she couldn't ask any of them because she was still comprehending on what had happened. It didn't take long for the man who was riding a horse to approach them and Jade could tell that the horse rider was closely aquinted to the devil who was after her. "I will need the horse,Albert." Alvin said to the man who was unmounting the horse. "Okay your highness. Do you need anything else?" "That is all. You can leave." Alvin replied and the man left with a bow.
"Who are you?" Those were the only words that could come out of jade's mouth. Is he the Lucifer himself or where is his kingdom? jade asked herself. "I know that you have a lot of unanswered questions but this is not the right place for me to answer them." Alvin could have told her everything about himself but he knew that she could not believe a single word he would say. "Do you know how to mount a horse?" He asked jade who seemed to be in deep thought. "I don't want to go anywhere with you. Please let me go I beg you." Jade pleaded with tearful eyes. If he would let her go, she would go very far away and never show her face in Avianna.
"Jade, when something piques my interest, I always make sure that I have it. And one thing I know is that one day, you will not want to be away from me for even a second. But before that day comes, I can't let you go anywhere far from me. I want you to be mine and I will make sure that you will love me as much as I love you. We should now get going." After finishing what he was saying, he held jade by the waist and lifted her up as if she did not have any weight, and made her sit on the horse. As jade was busy trying to sit comfortably, avin joined her by sitting behind her and held the reins of the horse. "It's time for you to know who I really am my darling." With those words, Alvin lightly pulled the horse's reins where it immediately started moving. Though Jade had rode horses severally, she had never done it with a man apart from her father who had tought her how to ride them.
