"Hello? Are you still the there?" A soft, pleasant voice at the other end of the phone snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Yeah," he cleared his throat. "Sorry. Got disconnected there for a bit. So Rick did not come home last night. I thought maybe he would, but never mind. I will talk to him soon. You don't need to worry. I will take care of everything."
