Chapter 86: Chapter 86

Alex nodded and did the blood pact to ensure a fair exchange of information. Percy wiped the excess blood off of his thumb before speaking, "All right, I'll start. Firstly, I don't know what you call those being but usually, the gods call them the devils.

This world is a copy of the original world which cannot be infested by the devils but when there are a lot of beings thinking about some world, it begins to form a copy of its own with a few changes which are also called errors.

The sins are also formed from human emotions from the original world and at the start they are extremely weak but as time goes on and they continue to consume more souls, they get stronger. These sins, after a certain period of time, gain a physical form and these beings are called devils.

They have glaring weaknesses but also great protection against the gods and most external factors. The gods cannot wipe them out, or this world as they aren't their creations and these kinds of worlds have a weird protective film around them.

The gods cannot enter these worlds and they did try all the methods they had so in the end, they had to resort to hiring human souls to do their work as only those souls were able to get into the world's protective film.

I was sent here for the same reason but these devils are a bit too weak to confront them forcefully and if I do that, you will most probably die since you have a connection to them.

Before I tell you to not believe them and such, let me tell you how they work. They capture stray souls and bring them in before letting them occupy someone's body. Souls that have experienced a lot of things and a lot of souls will have their previous memories stripped off before sending them in.

Powerful souls are apparently a delicacy but I don't know why. I can only speculate a few reasons but those aren't necessary right now. After you finish your time in this world, you will be consumed by those devils and the amount of benefit they receive is based on what you do in this period of nine years.

Your actions will weaken or strengthen those devils as they are connected to this world but through a few methods, you should be able to save yourself."

Alex was angry at the angels which he now decided to call the devils as he couldn't deny the fact that he was tricked. There was also the possibility of Percy lying but Alex knew that it was not the case as every time he thought of attacking him, his body would get paralyzed for a second, confirming the fact that the blood pact worked.

Meanwhile, Percy continued, "The first thing you should do is to break the chains that have enveloped your whole body. These chains are restrictions placed by the devils and allow them to control you when the time comes."

"Chains?"

"Yeah. You probably can't see or feel them but that's how I found you. I can see the chains." He said, pointing to his left eye which turned golden yellow for a few seconds before going back to normal.

"The first step is to remove these chains and the next one is a bit complicated. I'll tell you about that after you tell me about this world and after we remove these chains."

Alex stared at the sky, deep in thought as the stuff Percy just revealed to him was quite shocking. It took him a whole minute to digest everything before he began to talk about the ministry, Voldemort, Harry, and a lot of other things.

"So, this really is a dangerous era huh… and you said that you have the knowledge of the future?"

"Yes. I'll tell you about it after you remove my chains and tell me about the next step which I assume is to overthrow those devils or something of the same kind."

Percy nodded, "Yeah, something along those lines. As for the chains, give me your hand."

Alex did as he was told and extended his hand forward. Percy held his arm tight and without any prior notice, brought his other hand down, stabbing something into his palm.

He felt no pain but he did feel the weight being lifted off of his body. Five dark greyish chains shot out of the hilt of the silver dagger and floated in circles on top of his head. A few seconds later, a chain similar to the other five shot out but it had a tinge of dark blue, and a few more seconds later, emerged a shining yellow chain.

"Looks like you were told to act upon greed in your first year, am I right?"

Alex nodded and Percy continued, "And this year… sloth? Hmm, it does look like sloth but isn't fully developed. Anyways…"

The moment, he heard Percy finish his sentence, he felt something being pulled out of him. A thin translucent mist shot out like the chains before dividing into seven parts and shooting inside the chains, turning them pitch black, contrary to his expectations.

"There we go. Completely under your control and seems like you did a really good job in your first year so that's one step done for both of us. The final task to save yourself is to either kill those devils or to consume them.

Listen to me carefully now, there are some devils that are almost impossible to consume in our current circumstances and some who we cannot kill. Greed is someone has been very hard to either kill or consume and a lot of souls like me died in this world.

I really am thankful to you for taking care of him since I really didn't know what to do about him. Sloth cannot be consumed as she doesn't do anything so the only option is to kill her. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that you will be able to utilize the powers of those whom you consume…"
