Chapter 37: Chapter 37

Alex nodded as his eyes were fixated on the last two. The functions were exactly as he wanted them to be.

"How much for this set?" he asked.

"Hmm… since you're with uncle Ling, I can sell it to you for a hundred thousand. Would you like to buy anything else?"

"Yes… show me some of your best flying swords."

The man nodded and the whole counter was covered with various swords.

"They might all look the same, but they are all top-notch flying swords. Each one costs ten thousand taels."

"Alright, give me ten of these and for another hundred thousand, give me the lower quality ones including the worst."

The poor guy looked confused as he scratched his head.

"May I know why you would want so many swords?"

"I just want to study them. Nothing more, nothing less."

A minute or so later, Alex put on another ring on his finger while old man happily talked to the shopkeeper.

"Young master Tom, would you like to rest here before we head back?" asked Ling as he offered him a cup of tea.

Alex took a sip from the cup and nodded lightly as he sat on a large rock, enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by trees. The time he spent in the forest was peaceful and quite as he relaxed for the first time since he got into the country.

**********

In the middle of the night, he was woken up by Ling.

"Young master, there has been a bit of a problem at the headquarters. Would you like to come with me or can I go alone?"

"Take me there." Alex muttered as he stretched and yawned at the same time.

Ling took out a small book and wrote something on it before he tore off the page and burnt it.

A few seconds later, Han apparated exactly at the place where the paper was burnt.

"Kid, what did you do at the Phoenix girl's sect?"

"That old hag placed a tracking spell on me, so I headed to an inn nearby before I erased it."

Ling turned around to look at him, "This… how did you steal their books?"

"I simply transferred the tracking spell onto my clothes. I changed, stole stuff, wore it again and headed to your pavilion. I just wanted to test her you know? She was the first one to act so I don't mind destroying their whole ancestry."

"So you want to fight with us?" Han asked and Alex nodded.

"I'll face the hag. You should be able to easily kill off the others from her sect right?"

"Well… the Dragon boy's sect is also involved."

"I can stall them both. You and your people should be able to wipe out the others, right?"

"We can, but really kid… you brought us so much trouble. We need compensation for all the trouble you have caused."

"Compensation you say… if you want compensation, fight them all on your own. I'll just go back to my country."

"…. Kid, you think you can argue with me?" Han shouted as the leaves around him were thrown back.

"Who do you think you are, old man? Did you really think that I'd come here not expecting danger?" Alex, contrary to Han's expectations, looked calm as numerous ropes flew out of his bracelet and began moving in a circular path with Alex as the centre.

Ling looked at them from the side line, frightened.

"Do you both really have to fight? Please calm down."

Han didn't speak for a while and finally sighed, "Alright, you stall those two kids. I'll take care of the trash."

"Good." Said Alex as he took out a vial of potion and opened the tap. One drop fell from the small hole directly into his mouth.

"We can leave now." He said and a moment later, he was outside the pavilion.

"Old man Ling, go bring all my jade tokens. They should be ready by now."

"Yes, young master." He said and ran off, not even glancing behind him.

Alex used one of his ropes to fly out and saw that a lot of people were surrounding the pavilion on their flying swords.

"Those two kids are there. Go stall them and this old master will start the blood bath." Han said as he casually stood beside him.

"Alright… Do you guys have any pill that can increase my minds processing speed?"

"I do have a few … how is it going to help you fight?"

"You don't have to know."

Han shook his head and tossed him a small ceramic bottle which Alex uncorked and swallowed one of the pills inside. He was about to toss it back, but Han was already gone.

'Guess I'll keep it…'

He flew directly towards the two and noticed a cute girl who was a few inches taller than him.

"We meet again, matriarch. Looks like you really like spying on little kids… I feel so sorry for your husband."

"Impudence!" shouted the man beside the matriarch while Alex shook his head.

"Yea yeah… your lovely wife wanted me to marry your daughter. First keep an eye on her before you go on shouting bullcrap."

"SU MING!?" "MOTHER?!" both the daughter and father stared at the woman.

"I … he wanted… FORGET IT, BOTH OF YOU! First kill this kid and we can talk when we get home."

"Aww… mother-in-law, you really want to kill me? I'm so saad~"

"This… damn… kid!" she shouted as she clenched her jaw.

"AHAHAHAHAH COME FIGHT ME, BITCH!"

The moment he said that, the woman headed straight towards him at an unimaginable speed while four ropes headed straight towards her forehead. She slashed her sword at them but they swerved and went past her directly heading over to her daughter.

With no other option but to head back, she stopped right in her track to turn back and see that her husband had things under control. While she was happy that her child was safe, the time she wasted was enough for Alex to bring out enough ropes to fight for him.
